Of course we want the data - it is quite cheap compared to the rest. But the reasons will differ from customer to customer. Few peeps I know went for this purely out of the convenience of not having to deal with MTN.

Ha, and then you have the ones that 'won' a free mifi on twitter ... but are still flabbergasted as to what on earth this whole promo thing is about!

The deal was cool on its own, the free MiFi was just the cherry on top. The data is mainly going to be used as my backup and a bit while on the road, so i guess afrihost is going to score a bit as well as I won't max out the data.
 
I've been tracking mine all day. It is supposed to be delivered today. The delivery time started and 12:30 but hasnt arrived yet. That time kept changing all day and its now at 19:30 delivery.
I hope it makes it today still.

We don;t think they have a bad system, but it does seem like the volume in this instance was a major factor in making the system less effective for some. Many people were able to track their parcels as intended and their delivery times were spot on.

We're confident that when we're doing 50 parcels a day, instead of 500, the system will be as smooth as intended.

Let's hope so, the 19:30 is pretty late for the guys to make deliveries. As far as I know they should still contact you to confirm before they arrive.

The tracker now shows received by branch. I don't have the time to sit around waiting for them to deliver. They gave me a date and time for delivery and should stick to.

If the driver is not willing to accept the Rica documents from whom ever is home he can take it back.

You have to be there to accept your product. There is no way another person can RICA for you, same as with your cellphone or any other product. Once the driver has attempted a few times and it's unsuccessful the delivery will be marked as failed, and then it's a whole other process to get it back out to you. Rather email the courier and let them know when and where is the best place to find you during office hours, and they'll make a plan to do so.

What about if my wife has a power of attorney and I have left a letter giving her my express and irrevocable permission with my original documents?
 
Mine has now been handed to the couriers........so hopefully next week sometime. What is the process after it has been handed to the couriers ?

They send you email with details and tracking number and tracking link and again request to confirm an address change if required.
Then wait the long wait constantly checking tracking messages and hope its up to date and guys ahead of you do not waste the drivers time! Get all your rica requirements and barcode ID ready.

Thank you.....hopefully it will be the same driver as the one I saw earlier in the week delivering about 500m from my place....had a chat with him and gave him my name and he now knows where I stay. He told me he will most probably deliver mine as well :D

As far as I know you have to be there in person. Not sure any document can bypass that :(

We knew this from it's inception, and I avoided it as long as I could.

I just got myself a new sim this evening, signed a contract with my new address without providing proof lol

My daughter's order changed to "delivered to courier" tonight. As I understand most of the outstanding ones are those with issues like non payment, no delivery address, ect. better check your order or PM AfriWhatever.

My daughter had to update her delivery address yesterday so probably that was the delay.

Those of you that are expecting a delivery from Afrihost:

we have close to 10 000 of them to deliver by 6th September.
we have received nearly 2000 requests to change the delivery address.
we are experiencing serious delays/failures as a result of people not having their RICA docs ready.

We ask for your patience and understanding - your delivery will get to you before the 6th as originally promised.

Best part is still, I was part of the first 1000 :D

But it doesn't bother me it just needs to get here before the 7th
