Afrihost MTN Fixed LTE-A Thread

Ah, pity the maintenance didn't fix the slow international speeds by me but my new re-routing solution with Cloudflare is working fine against that so I don't have qualms with MTN anymore :P

is there still an issue with the MTN Pure LTE or has that been resolved ? when I check the afrihost network status page it shows green no issues for both mobile and fixed wireless, but since around mid day of the maintenance I've been getting results like this:

it was working normally for a while around 2:00 am this morning though.
support gives me the same responses of them running a network audit/refresh, asking me to reset my router, recreate the profile and requesting screenshots of speedtests and traceroutes (which are almost impossible to give when almost any attempt to upload any form of image times out or fails because of packet loss).

the fact that this one successfully uploaded here is a miracle in and of itself.

Edit: I guess the universe likes toying with me because it appears my net is working correctly again

Might have been tower related. Since the authentication issue we have not had any issues with Pure LTE since.

Not sure why, but i get twitch.tv cannot be found VERY often - have to wait 2 minutes and eventually works again :/

@AfriNatic - since your (Afrihost / MTN) maintenance overnight , none of my devices will authenticate ; they show as "Connected, no internet". I tried resetting the B525 and starting from scratch.

I think my MTN cell no. has been kicked off your system - never liked the look of the SIM I was sent, in the first place. Had to purchase Telkom data just to post this.

Have wasted a lot of time over this already, so please ensure on your side my SIM is reconnected / reinstated ; sending a private conversation after this, with my details.
I have the same issues since the maintenance.

Anyone still experiencing Afrihost LTE-A downtime today? This is the third instance of having a completely dead connection since last weeks maintenance. Half day currently today, full day down late last week. Support now reset and checked router settings a few times. Any ETA on this?

@AfriNatic hi please check app, it's only reporting currently months mob+night data balances.
Roll over balances seem to have disappeared

@AfriNatic - ditto this as well as the others, for me as well.
Last night I (think I) still had about 8GB night time data available from August - I used probably 1/2 that until 6am.
Today I should have had around 5GB (for use after 6am) from August.

Please can you arrange similarly to how you corrected it last month - will PM you my details after this.

Weird thing is, it's only the 30th today, so your systems have a problem every month on the last day of the month - with the carry over data - no matter whether the last day is the 30th or 31st
(I thought last month that it was only because carry over lasted for "30 days", and August was a 31 day month, that that was the issue ; therefore, based on how the Afri. back-end is setup, this will also be a problem on the 27th / 28th of Feb. next year, for those having carry over data, not to mention any other month in the year, based on the last 2 months episodes).

I await further feedback, presumably in the PM on what amount of data will be re-instated ?

Thanks.

For the record, to now Afrihost haven't bothered restoring my August rollover data that should've still been available 'til midnight tonight (the 4 - 5 GB odd), and no feedback from @AfriNatic since in a PM, he was supposedly escalating "Dev" to sort it out, claiming that dept. suddenly didn't know how to go about it, or something to that effect.

Very disappointing, not even the fact that the data mentioned above hasn't been restored, but that I'm also down by about 5GB in my night-time data for Sept, and normal data by almost 2GB.

That means, the night-time data between midnight & 6am this morning (when the 30/09 started) I was using, wasn't included in the 8GB I thought I still had in August's rollover, so Afrihost's data usage system is "up the pole", as rollover data is cut off 1 day prior to the month end - this is exactly what happened last month.

Apparently those of you who sent @AfriNatic your details earlier on today, got sorted out (?), as I seem to have been the only Afrihost customer voicing a negative opinion on this.

No info yet but the MTN fixed LTE deals that we offer run on our own network. If there is any info I will keep everyone updated.
Thanks ... I’m using rain for now but I’m not sure if the 110 gig deal is worth it for a month with 5 people

@AfriNatic
Still awaiting your update.

I had 23GB roll over daytime data which I could not use on 30th and nearly 60Gb night time ( although understandably that would have expired at midnight yesterday).

At the very least I would expect the GBs that I used yesterday to be reimbursed to this current month.

Clearly AH have not corrected their error automatically for their clients.
Nor has there been any apology or update since my post notifying you of the system wide problem yesterday morning.

Rather annoyed tbh. It doesn't look good.
