200Mbps finaly !!! This is after Cisp refused to upgrade me to 200Mbps. 8 months of excuses that my exchange do not support 200Mbps.

I'm on TTconnect Afrihost "Priority Uncapped", how do I migrate this to the new "pure fiber" package at R999 p/m for 100/100 ?

Edit: NVM, I can do it through the portal.

Does the cancellation fee of R999 still apply in this case If i decide to cancel in the next few months?

You can just go into your CLientZone and do a package change from Priority to Pure Fibre. It should populate with the equivalent package automatically, but just double check that you choose the one you're prefer to be on :)

If you were already a client, the package change doesn't affect your original 6 month commitment. But if you were with us for less that six months in total when you cancel, the R999 will apply.

Tried to upgrade to the 20mb package online.... Received an SMS with an Afrihost reference number saying TT Connect will contact me. Called TT Connect after a few hours later, they say they don't know anything. Guy said I should wait till the end of the month and see if anything happens then. Do I have to wait till the end of the month for an upgrade???

It really comes down to your ISP's cancellation policy. Drop me a PM with your details. Our fibre team know all the ins and outs with the providers and how most of the other ISP's work,

Erm...Afrihost is my ISP! I'm just trying to do an upgrade to the new package. Will drop you a PM!

So quite a few of you have had a couple of days to test the waters. Besides speedtest results, how is Pure Fibre looking? Downloads, single and multi-threaded? NNTP if you use it. Torrents. Streaming services like Twitch, Youtube and Netflix? How are EU / NA latencies? Gaming performance in general? There's not a lot of feedback for a feedback thread :)

I only go live on 1 Sept if all goes to plan.. unless i ask CISP if I can pay for next month so long and get released immediately and then claim back my R1500 from AH as part of the 5K rebate.

I've been live since Wednesday afternoon. Not only has Pure Fibre been flying but my latency has gone down compared to CISP.

For the first time, Twitch 1080p 60fps plays almost instantly and does not buffer at all. Not much of an online gamer but games do now install at 20MB/s as expected on the new 200Mbps line.

Hey guys, quick heads up.

There is a fibre break on Openserve's network that might affect performance in the South region (Western Cape areas).

We're liaising with them to get progress on this. Our website has been updated, so if you have the App, you should also received a notification from us.

Yeah, if you pay a penalty to cancel immediately, we'll cover that on your credit up the R5K total value. :)

I'm really glad to hear that you're thinking of coming back to us. I'm sorry that we let you down before, but I can promise we are going to do everything in our power to make your next experience with us a really awesome one.

Update on Openserve Fibre Break:

The technicians were not able to complete the repair last night, so they're back out there this morning.

I'm told there were some safety concerns, which is why they had to leave site last night. We're waiting for a security escort to take them back to complete the work.

Hey Afriman

Signed up here as well.
Webafrica though only allows me to cancel at the end of August.

Trying to find out if I can terminate earlier with a penalty but good luck to me getting any quick response from them.

On the other hand. Switched to AirMobile over the weekend. Quickest Port to MTN and Provisioning ever. So well done.
