I just did.. Hopefully all goes well..I am seriously considering migrating from CISP to Afrihost.
The message is a generic one - but i agree - they need to distinguish between a migration and a new line on that message, because it can be a bit confusing...@AfriMan , my line has just been released. ClientZone now shows processing order, what's a bit confusing is that it's talking about line installation being required, while I selected a line migration. This is a problem for me since my kids just got home and they'll need the internet. How long does this process take?

I would also like to know...Thinking of doing the same. How did you request cancellation from Cool Ideas. Via their online support/accounts system, or by phoning them up? Which way is the best/speediest.
You can email [email protected] and request a cancellationI would also like to know...
Just tell them u willing to pay cancellation fees for Aug and they must release on 1st Aug.. Then at least u get most of the free three months from afrihost as the first month is pro-rata..Thinking of doing the same. How did you request cancellation from Cool Ideas. I have pretty much the same experience as you with my current ISP on Openserve. The only thing I'd be interested in is if I can get my ping lower to BF V servers in the EU and also Dubai / UAE. I don't know why, but UAE servers should be our closest next to Jhb (for game servers), but the ping to Dubai is terrible, always 250ms+. The best I get is to Germany where it stays a constant 170ms, which is still outside the ping limit of 160ms. I don't get the 160ms to London, mine is at 170ms as well.
I'm not sure if it will improve by switching ISP's to Afrihost, but if it does, I'll be happy to move.
I just want to confirm, I'm with Cool Ideas, they also require a calendar month notice. If I cancel now they will still bill me for August. If I ask them to cancel immediately and invoice me for August now, will you credit that amount back to me for migrating? (I signed up with AfriHost yesterday for the Pure Fibre migration).
Wow, great promos and feedback - well done Afrihost! Out of curiosity I decided to log into the clientzone last night and discovered that I was an Afrihost client from 2009-2018, that's quite a while! Those DSL top-ups were great![]()

@AfriMan
So are all the fibre packages now merged into 1 package?
No more, home and premium and such?

Actually I'm not even sure who my line is with now. You or my previous ISP.I think it should be fine not to worry about it too much. But if you're on Openserve you might just need to change your PPPoE login details.
@AfriMan Sales staff mentions that I cannot activate Fibre line for beginning of September. Vox is only cancelling line beginning of September. Instead of a penalty will Afrihost cover my one month (August) with Vox?

They claim that Vuma has not yet confirmed that the line has been released from them, but there was a period of no connectivity for about 30 minutes. When we could connect again, the WAN IP address was the same - even after a restart. However since I thought the line has been released I chatted to your people who advised me to go to that activation page of yours. After logging in, it said "Good to go".
My problem with this situation is that every day I'm with my ISP, I'm getting billed for.
I'll go have a beer now. Hopefully things will make more sense when I get tipsy![]()
About time too.. Who offers capped on Fibre these days.. It's like the 90s phoning wanting their land-line back.. HahaYes, we only have one flavour of Uncapped now. So you don't have to choose anymore![]()
