While I'm in this thread, I find the firmware of the router quite annoying and difficult to work with. In fact, I still haven't been able to set the router up properly, in fact I'm back to using my old Tenda POS. Maybe I'm just a bit impatient, so will give it another go once I get home.

Here's a question. I'm on Openserve and I see that Octotel is listed as coming soon in my area. AfriMan, if I migrate to you guys with my Openserve, is there a way I can still get on the waiting list for Octotel?

So offer you DRS during specific times, what sorcery is this?!

Interestingly, that's actually still a thing on Afrihost for some legacy packages. They call them Turbocharges.

I see them mentioned on the Afrihost Plus page:
https://www.afrihost.com/landing/afrihost_plus/

It's a real shame that Simfy is the music streaming service partnered with Afrihost. It would be a good deal if it was Spotify instead.

@AfriFella @AfriMan You might want to send word to the powers that be to change the reported value of Simfy on the above landing page. Simfy All Access is most definitely worth R60pm and not R70.

Best to cancel via the website or phone them (hopefully not -- hate phoning them)
I don't actually know. I'm not sure on the migration process, I think might be best to speak to Afrihost about this so that you don't end up with the line being cancelled and stuck with no internet...

Pretty much cancelled the Webafrica line online (and indicated that I want to move the line to another provider) and checked-out on the Afrihost one. Will see what will happen.

Best of luck, I'll probably do the same soon

Hi Honey Badger,
if you are still having difficulty with your router, please let me know so that I can assist you via PM, alternatively, you can call our Call center and our fibre team will be more than happy to go through the configuration process with you.

Hi Juzz Wuzz, You can migrate over to us using the same fibre provider you are currently using, and once your area is live with the new provider we can change your fibre service. Please be advised however, that this would go off as a new installation.

I didn't get to it last night, I've reset it to factory defaults already so that I can start afresh. I'll contact you if I get stuck.

Really struggling with the accounts department.
I have credit with WebSquad. The charges for August and the connection fee were devoted off the credit.

Been fighting with Accounts for a week now. Anyone have tips for me.

Hi Pho3nix,
I am terribly sorry to hear that you have been having difficulties with our accounts team regarding your billing issues, please can you send me a PM with your details of your account, and I would be more than happy to assist you with this.

So basically I should sign up then only for Octotel to secure the free installation and stick with Web Africa until this is ready. Switching without needing installation now doesn't seem to give me the best savings. But having new installation costs does sound like a good deal to me...

If you doing a migration, you can get up to 3 months free but new installation only guarantees you 2 months free. Regardless of new installation or migration, you get a max of R5000 that would cover cancellation fees, migration of line, router, installation, etc etc etc. If it were up to me, I would try and get Web Africa to cancel early, charge me an early cancellation and get Afrihost to subsidise that cancellation, all the while pre-ordering with Afrihost a migration of line

Thats actually a good point, I didn't think about the cancellation fee being part of the package. Cause that was the concern that I'd technically be paying double the first month but get it free from Afrihost so it wouldn't be so bad but if I can get it cancelled and not spend it even better
