Maybe you are in the same boat as me my friend... they tell you one thing, but in reality it is something different... let's hope that you can switch today though..
Well I'll be highly peeved(also had to unplug modem and pack it neatly which was a mission with all the wires) as I have everything on email.. Heads should roll imo if people don't know how to do their job.. Complain to ICASA if not rectified today? @cavedog

Well it's official - i need to wait till 31 Aug before i join you guys. Super disappointed about the release not happening tomorrow, but such is life hey !

Sorry about that - we'll just put that champagne on ice for now ;)

Do you already have the router from us? You should be able to continue to connect with our router - they might just need to reset the MAC address with Vuma.

Yes received your router on Tuesday :)

I was also expecting to be connected today. And nothing. Cisp seems to have released the line. But not sure what I just do now.

Should happen automatically if you already have a pending order with Afrihost. You can give them a call and see if they can grab the line from Vumatel now or just wait should happen today though.

Give CISP a chance to rectify if they don't then you can lodge a complaint to ISPA.

Hi I have tried

I have escalated to AfriMan. I have Afrihost dlink router but am using my ASUS one. Anyway I don’t think that should be a problem as all settings are the same. Was up at 12:01am to see if it would all go through fine but alas still not connected to Afrihost. I can see the Vuma storefront through my network and can see my object number but cannot do anything beyond that. The storefront does not let me activate anything.

Ok. Update. All working 100%. Speeds look great. Thanks AfriMan and the other Afrihost team members. Also thanks to Gian for creating a customer centric organization that is willing to help effectively. Already got many of my mates to switch over to you as this deal is a winner. Keep up the great work and you will have us for months to come.

New installs are a bit more pricey for us to cover. Some providers charge R2k plus for installation, which we pay over on your behalf.

Seeing as we only recoup R999 max if you cancel within 6 months, it's just a bigger cost to carry.

Thanks @AfriMan makes more sense now :)

Can you please clarify in terms of upgrades and downgrades what the timing is thereof that one needs to do it by? I see 23rd of a month on the CP and 15th of a month on the site as the last dates to do so, which is confusing.

I have signed up in July, so got the remainder July and now August for free.
The invoice has been generated, reflecting the costs and the discounts for both months.
If I now upgrade to a faster line for August, I take it I will be billed for the difference between the packages pro-rata? Or will it be discounted as part of the free month of August?

If I do upgrade, do I then have until 23 August 23:59:59 to downgrade the line again in the CP for September, so that I get billed for the downgraded line on the 1st of September and then the lower speed also takes effect same day?

Axxess said my line would be released today - Seems like that is not the case

Afrihost support says that the line is still with my old ISP:rolleyes:

How long did it take for the speed to upgrade? Afrihost has claimed my line and I'm connected but still getting old speed. @AfriMan ?

after you do it on client zone then phone them to activate it. you will then see on client zone the speed has changed. Mine has changed but I also seem to be getting my old speed at the mo.

Ok thanks, wonder how long it’ll take to change over then.

At work now so cannot verify if it has changed via a speed test and my damn team viewer is not working so cannot check it remotely either. will check later

Can you all just sharrap with your new connections... making me jealous over here :p:p

Cant understand why CISP can't release you now? I assume you are going to pay them for August and will just recoup from AH right.

Ja, they say once its logged on the Openserve Portal it takes manual intervention via Openserve's SDM to override it. I did ask them to do it ( on the 22nd of July ) - but i got a mail yesterday to inform me that they cant get it released and no reason given, except the SDM reason that PBCool gave me last night.

My personal opinion about it is a lack of effort from whoever dealt with it - or a "lost in translation" scenario to be honest, but like i said - i will just pay this last month. My connection is still fine and I'm happy with it, so I'll just wait it out...
