With Telkom upgrading all the 512kbps users to 1024kbps at midnight tonight, which ISP would you recommend for an uncapped/shaped package? (ISP + monthly charge)

2. OpenWeb: Standard Uncapped - R359/m
3. MWeb - R369/m
4. Axxess: Just Uncapped - R396/m
5. Openweb: LITE Uncapped - R445/m
6. OpenWeb: Gold - R449/m
7. imaginet: One "oh" Two Four - R469/m

New Release:
Afrihost: Uncapped - R397/m

Don't go openbrowse or LITE. out of those I'd choose MWEB.

Wow Openweb is expensive. Only R50 less than 4meg uncapped, for 4x less speed.

Imaginet - R469 for 1 meg.

R499 for 4 meg. Sometimes I wonder what these guys are thinking when pricing their products.

Hey Friends,

We will be releasing our new Standard Uncapped 1Mbps ADSL account for R359 later today or tomorrow, ready for action on 1 May :) Gold will be R449

I have emailed the owner of my ISP (yesterday and this morning).

Response is not positive for a 1Mb product.

Come on, Gian! Here's another opportunity to champion our cause!

Out of those options I'll choose Openweb Gold.

You do realize though that the 1meg service will be faaaaaaaar less contended as the current 4me pricing is actually too cheap to really provide a proper service?

I think ISPs will be raping us with the 1Mb packages. A lot of people will probably just prefer staying on the 512 because of this.

All bandwidth on that particular uncapped package goes through the same backbone with the same shaping rules in place.

I posted that before MrBEEP said that the price will be R359 effective 1 May.
