Cheaper/Cheapest iPhone 4s Contracts

My wife (newly converted iPerson) wants to take out a new iPhone contract, after her old phone was stolen a while back. She's been using an old 2.2 Android, so obviously its too slow for her liking after she got her iPad 3 a while back.

My question is: "When will the service providers make their iPhone 4S contracts cheaper, pending the release of the iPhone 5?".

She's just gonna use the phone for calls, emails, photos and Facebook, so she'll be fine with the 4S.

Do we have any indication of when the iPhone 5 is being released in SA yet? Or have I missed something on the interwebs?
 
Early Nov I think it the iphone 5 release date, definitely wait till then even if your getting 4s to see what the prices are then.

The "Add to Basket" changed to "Checkout", so I know it was supposed to go to my basket, but isn't :(

Ok, seriously. I was looking for something like this. Any other offers anybody knows of? Makro seems to have a R300 per month contract with Vodacom on the 4s 16GB. Anything cheaper than this?

I went in store to Makro Centurion yesterday, expecting the 299 per month deal, where the lady informed me that the contract is actually 249 per month. I am currently collecting bank statements, blood samples and psychiatric reports to be able to create a new private rica profile and account.

Hmmm, wonder if that's country wide. What contract do you get with the phone?
 
Ok, so I got it at Centurion. 249 per month. Vodacom Smart light or something. 75 minutes off peak, 20 anytime minutes, 100 mb data per month.

249 per month over 24 months works out at less than 6000 rands for an iPhone 4s. Eat that, FNB.
 
That's really good. Must have a look and see whether the local Makro has the same deal tomorrow.

Can one bolt on more minutes and data to that package? Cos that's not going to cut it.
