24 hours and it's still unclear to what is happening. From what I can tell is that I'm getting prosecuted/sued for cyber crime.

I've had almost every person I've spoken to, laugh at my situation. They think its a joke. When you get investigated or told to get lawyers, you should be told your fault and what exactly you've done incorrectly. All I've officially been told thus far is "AUP breach", which has been stated as if they are ship crewman about to sink. Not a single point of evidence has been brought forward.

As to the ethics of this. I was informed of this initially through SMS (with 2 sort-of usefull words) at 3am. Neither an email nor a phone call. Instead I have to email them to find out... Explain this to me, to why I must do the work.

Nothing to my knowledge of what I've done with CW for the past month (my first proper month) should implicate such a severe reaction and ball drop.

If I were to have done anything incorrectly, should I not be warned first? Which I have not been, not a single email or a simple communications means sent to me.

After been banned of live chat and not getting proper email replies besides one liners. I think I've about had enough.

Just to add another comical comment, one of their support guys said that their "legal" team had a meeting yesterday morning. Not realizing at the time, that meeting was for me.

This went very quiet all of a sardine....?

I am sorry if I stepped on anybody's toes with my statement, but there is no recent activity on his profile and there is no date at the Last Activity.

Maybe he just doesn't have internet access anymore :) He's services was suspended after all :D

If he was banned, his profile should say so. It's only when someone has a special title, like with DJ, that the banned status is covered up.

Just my little anecdotal experience, a year later:

40 mb vdsl, 350 gig capped account. North-East JHB based.

Overall:great service via live chat, low pings to d3 servers, just schedule my d/loads to run after 1am, all smooth sailing from my side.

Ive fiddled with line speeds and account types, and finally settled on 40 meg vdsl a capped account around 5 months ago.

I'm very satisfied with my speed, service and the the handy notices via email regarding network issues.

March 2017 is fibre go live time in my area, so hopefully the process will be smooth once that is ready. Will keep you posted.
YMMV.

Well AH just announced that their 18 hour free time is ending for the cheaper capped packages - as we all knew it would. I mean someone paying R29 and pulling 3TB's+ is a joke :p

Now I'd like to know what is going to happen with CW. I believe they also mentioned that the offer will be revisited come December. Considering they don't have the AH problem of having free-time on super cheap offers...I can only hope they continue with it indefinitely going forward.

Some info from CW on this would be GREATLY appreciated :)

If it's causing system overloads resulting in shaping, they should can it. However, I have no problem personally if they continue with it if it's not threatening capacity levels at all. :)
