Official Crystal Web ADSL performance feedback thread Part 3...

We have, and there's nothing we're doing to this traffic to cause the issue you experience with Destiny. I've looked into it, IS have, but you have the same issues in contention and completely uncontended environments, and with different routing we tested behind the scenes. I honestly have ruled out as much as possible on our side to the point that I'm fairly confident in saying that this is either an issue on your end or with Destiny themselves. Or perhaps the peers. There's also absolutely nothing that happens in 30min intervals on the network either...

Hmm.. Will have to complain on their forums again :(

I "assumed" it is CW because a Vox account works fine albeit it has its own issues.
Streaming is awesome as always but the Destiny issue is bugging me a bit. All other games work reasonably fine online with low ping.

I'll manage, just figured I'd bring it up.

Good to have you back :)

Just wanted to ask why I get 60-70ms ping on Dota 2 but with my axxess account I was getting constant 33ms or around 40ms?

It will vary depending on routing, also depends where the game server is hosted. Are you able to get a traceroute to the gameserver so we can see the path it takes and where latency comes in?

All times of day, and to a local (same city) server?

I cannot stress enough how important it is to ask our support team on live chat as a first port of call for this sort of thing so they can walk through some tests to ascertain if it's an issue we need to look at.

You must remember that on mybb we don't know who you are and there's also no known network related reason for specifically introducing any form of gaming latency at all. So asking such a question will always result in us directing you to the support desk instead, quite simply because it's impossible to answer.

Imagine it like this: you notice that the water pressure in your house has dropped. You post anonymously on the dept of water's twitter feed under a pseudonym asking them why. According to all sensors at their water distribution points, there are no leaks, and there is no problem with supply either. They may need to redirect you to the municipal dept, or investigate a bigger issue overall. However the likelihood of getting to the bottom of it is more likely to happen easier and quicker with the assistance of technicians who are dedicated and skilled to diagnose such issues, using a multitude of tests and data points. And it's also best to speak to them when the issue occurs so they can test while the problem persists.

In other words, when trying to assist with diagnosing a water leak, you'll probably contact your municipality's support departments because you'd need to disclose personally identifiable information and run through some diagnostics, or have someone else do this for you. Same applies to the internet, and we encourage the same.

We're in the final throws of deploying something for this that will mean never having to run these tests and never having to query with us about it either. Once completed it will change the ISP support game considerably and make life for our customers much easier. Should be ready in the next 2 weeks now...

Which games?

I'm also back on my old login as all the profiles for home capped have been migrated.

PC and PS4 gaming is rock solid for me.

WinMTR's to game servers?

Never had a single disconnect. I jam crucible an hour or two every other night and raid with friends on weekends.

Could you try Skolas and let me know your experience?
Was kicked twice yesterday and couldn't reconnect at all on the last round :(

Will send you a streetwise two for your strenuous testing :p

How is Destiny?

Lots of people were having issues last night, not CW related. When you went to tower, almost everyone had a poor connection. Also got kicked last night, and took forever to sign in. Rocket League was stable though.

I know there were issues in Iron Banner(expected) but in PvE Vox was running fine.

Console? Game Type?

PS4. A buddy was on a fibre line through someone else and getting kicked in IB. I was playing crucible and got "You've lost connection to destiny servers". Now that you mention it, PvE was fine last night... PvP - lots of lag.

The "old" credentials are identical, as in we moved everyone over behind the scenes. Can you PM me the two usernames you're trying and I can dig into it more?

Any word on using zapper sober are not forced to snap scan?

We don't have any plans for Zapper. We're already reconciling from two bank accounts, SnapScan, and debit order providers. So adding more complexity into this mix will only result in month-end drama or tickets piling up with people asking "has my payment reflected?". Which by the way causes a major slowdown on actual billing work.

FYI, if there's an issue with your account or payments in any way we will contact you. There isn't any need to request manual clarification or confirmation for each payment.
