Just wanted to ask why I get 60-70ms ping on Dota 2 but with my axxess account I was getting constant 33ms or around 40ms?
All times of day, and to a local (same city) server?
I cannot stress enough how important it is to ask our support team on live chat as a first port of call for this sort of thing so they can walk through some tests to ascertain if it's an issue we need to look at.
You must remember that on mybb we don't know who you are and there's also no known network related reason for specifically introducing any form of gaming latency at all. So asking such a question will always result in us directing you to the support desk instead, quite simply because it's impossible to answer.
Imagine it like this: you notice that the water pressure in your house has dropped. You post anonymously on the dept of water's twitter feed under a pseudonym asking them why. According to all sensors at their water distribution points, there are no leaks, and there is no problem with supply either. They may need to redirect you to the municipal dept, or investigate a bigger issue overall. However the likelihood of getting to the bottom of it is more likely to happen easier and quicker with the assistance of technicians who are dedicated and skilled to diagnose such issues, using a multitude of tests and data points. And it's also best to speak to them when the issue occurs so they can test while the problem persists.
In other words, when trying to assist with diagnosing a water leak, you'll probably contact your municipality's support departments because you'd need to disclose personally identifiable information and run through some diagnostics, or have someone else do this for you. Same applies to the internet, and we encourage the same.
We're in the final throws of deploying something for this that will mean never having to run these tests and never having to query with us about it either. Once completed it will change the ISP support game considerably and make life for our customers much easier. Should be ready in the next 2 weeks now...
