Hi, it's regarding exchange congestion and moving my line to CW so you guys can try to make a plan for me.

I PM'd "Crystal Web Support" my line number on 07-08-2015 01:25 PM.

Just wanted to know if there was an update on the situation. I'm in no rush as I'm busy writing tests this week.

I recall now. Will leave this with our lines manager to take care of for you.
 
Any Uncapped Home Basic users here? I just recently got connected and happily downloading away but unsure of approximately how much peak time data usage would subject you to CW's shaping?

We'd really prefer that you not test the limits. It's not a set value. It's an algorithm based on usage behaviour. And it's best not to be hit with it, especially if you're hitting it hard. Basically, if you intend to use your account for peak data usage it's never advisable to pick an entry product where the FAQ suggests it's not suitable.

Ah, I see then. Thanks for the additional info. I will be more than happy to keep within the limits to not have my account shaped, haha. Currently enjoying it in its neutral state.

Dreadfull performance yesterday when updating the new skyforge patch. Only managing 200kb on a 40mbps...No I do not care if its a download, all gaming downloads fall under gaming as far as I am concerned as I cannot play my mmo's if they aren't patched...

Suddenly flies after midnight at 3 mbps so clear shaping.

Also before you try and blame the games servers, patch was downloading at linespeed for all 3 my friends. One located in the uk, 1 germany and 1 portugal.

I did a steam install of 7gb last night around 22:00 and it came down at line speed. Home Capped account.

EDIT: Did you run any WinMTR's to the server you were downloading from by any chance?

Did you talk to anyone on support, because there was no shaping yesterday on the network, and checking the capacity logs we are far from it anywhere? If you'd like I'd be happy to PM you logs of the connection on your side and correlate to network activity on our side to show this to you?

Just to get into some detail on this one, especially relating to the context you provided:

Gaming patches come down to local CDN nodes to get the data closer to you which improves speeds drastically. Your friends overseas would certainly not be downloading from the same servers as you were. But like I said, happy to show you the network in your area and correlate with throughput data to show you if we were shaping your connection in any way, which I am quite certain was not happening at all...

So I requested my line to be transferred to crystalweb it's in the holding pool currently, I have posted on podio and can't access live chat so messaging here

We did respond via the Podio system as well, and immediately sent an email update as well that feasibility check is underway, and provided you access to the system to view the updates on our side as well, so hopefully through one of those systems or notifications you're able to remain up to date there...

How long will this take, when I spoke to support they said it wouldn't take long?
