Hence the would be nice but yeah I do realise it wont be profitable. But then again someone with a 20 to 40 mb vdsl using there free time only even with a 150 gb capped package I cant see it being profitable. Depends on said persons usage.

Personally I just want fast downloads and dont want to download the internet and with a smaller cap you can maybe look at faster adsl.

Or even scrap that news server completely and give us a streaming subscription.

News server is currently not authenticated, well their primary, so it would be impossible to drop this access without changing the setup completely.

Streaming is already 100% for me anyway. Because their NTTP server is free, they would not offer a streaming service in replacement, this would be at heavy cost to them.

NextGenNews isn't free? R100pm for a 10mbps connection

no, they want a free showmax account or something.

Not free, suggesting they drop the NextGenNews account we get and we get a Netflix/Showmax in return. Lets face it, some of us download the internet, streaming would be less data usage to them than news hosts.

Why would I want shows limited to South African market when the news servers allow me to get shows globally.

What about movies????

streaming is all at peak time, NNTP is schedulable for after hours. It makes more sense from a network load point of view to encourage nntp over streaming

Was just a thought after seeing how little data has been used during peak hours, including mine; although I do see and understand your point.

Tried playing a game tonight. I might as well not have bothered:

News Server is one of the things that keeps me at CW.

If I have to pay for that then other ISP's start looking much more appealing.

I also get that on the 3rd hop with CW, reported it to no avail. Been going on for weeks. I had to go and buy AH account just for gaming. No more spikes.

have you contacted CW yet?

Yeah, I've contacted them many times this month. They give conflicting answers as to what product I'm on, and they think any problems are caused by Telkom, so they've asked Telkom to fix it, who think they need to talk to me, but keep phoning the wrong person.

Last month for me at crystal web. If I wanted a service that works SOMETIMES, I could do that with another isp, for substantially less money.

So dissapointed that they lied about premium uncapped accounts. Better contention my ass.

I won't bother moving to one of their capped accounts either.
At the very least they could have told us there was a problem with premium uncapped accounts at certain hours of the day.

Either to axxes or vox from here.
