I figured it out. After spending the day with emails back and forth to CW I eventually solved it. I upped the number of connections. I tested in increments of 10. 10 gave me 3MB/s. So I tried 20 connections. Lo and behold I get ~6MB/s and 40 gave me 9MB/s. I jumped to 50 connections and it's maxing out my line at 10MB/s.
Damn that's weird.

I run all four servers (ports) in parallel.

So 40 connections in total.

Crystalweb has been working well for me today.

I think it was just bad timing when I first used my account.

Will continue using and report back if there's any issues. Hope downloads are quite excellent too

I signed up to check how the streaming was via DSTV now, but it seemed to buffer quite a bit. They use ip range 197.80.0.0/12
Latency seemed fine at around 30-50ms

Blame DSTV as it happens with all ISP's.

Afrihost, Cool Ideas, Crystal Web, Web Africa, VOX - all ISP's I've tried DSTV / SuperSport, all buffer.

Look into AceStream.

It is a DSTV/SuperSport problem. NasPers don't want to upgrade the streaming nodes to improve performance.

Get ISPAfrika to do the line install from Telkom and use CW for data

What he said:

I used ISPAfrika for fibre at my previous address. Great service, best price for 100Mbps, month-to-month contract, no issues at all. You essentially get a free 10GB backup account as well, as it's technically a bundle.

The only clause which sticks out like a sore thumb with ISPAfrika is "All support is done on the next business day". They also have other clauses like "Regrade line speed: R150", "Transfer to other ISP: R600". Having said that, I haven't seen anyone complain about ISPAfrika.

Thank you berry muchly to all of you. Your recommendation came through.

Order placed on the 27th of Jan.
Installed and up and running by the 11th of February

Running beautifully with Crystal Web data.

Fibre goodness, what a pleasure :D

nothing changes.

So if you are an existing CW customer who signed up for a 150GB package which includes Free Time, that would continue? However if you are a new subscriber, and you sign up now, that you would have to be on a 250GB package or more?

Lol, just had my application for fibre submitted today via Crystal Web. :o

The bundle price they offered for my data and a 100Mbps line eliminated any benefit to going with ISPAfrika. Still, all that matters is having a working fibre connection. Now the wait for my installation begins. Will it be a day or will it be a month, nobody knows.

Got a call about half an hour ago from Telkom, and they said a fibre technician will stop by tomorrow morning to inspect the property. Oh yes it's happening sooner rather than later.
