I work in Animal rescue.
I’ll not say how many I own, its less than 10 but most of the time we average about 16-20.
They all get sterilized and adopted though.

Please sterilize your male and female pets.
Its a devastating world out there.

Now only have
4 dogs
1 parrot
Used to have snakes and rats for (the) pets

Simian? Is keeping a monkey even legal?
yes, bred in captivity, not caught in the wild. Squirrel monkeys and Capuchin monkeys is quite common in sa. However indigenous monkeys require permits, for the most part any indigenous animal requires a permit.
Any thing not indigenous is exotic, would require a permit to import and export, bred locally technically still requires a permit but people don't care.

Some monkeys are of course illegal to own if they are endangered, whether bred in captivity or not.

wanted to call my cat destroyer of worlds, but my wife had a problem with it for some reason.. strangely enough, she calls him destroyer now and then...

yah someone said zoo, I got a menagerie.

4 Dogs ( 1 x Jack , 1 x SPCA jack/terrier, 1 x Rescue Husky Cross, 1 x Rescue Ridgeback )
1 Sun Conure ( noisy little bastard but cute )
2 x Russian Dwarf Hamsters
8 Chickens ( 7 hens ( Lohman's, Rhode, Potchcook ) and 1 Rhode Roo )

Chickens are livestock/pets though, provide eggs and I use them to create compost/turn soil.
