Hi

Is anyone having these weird packet drops to overseas servers, which makes gaming impossible

here is a ping test example

Well this is local at the moment, with low latencies and good bandwidth , packet loss is mad

Strange thing is i dont get drops locally only international. I have a friend on HC Vuma Trenched and getting the same weird packet drops. This is in JHB

I'm in George, but i've had this issue since day one. Neither frogfoot or home connect want to take the blame. Home connect actually has a 2 month ticket i follow up with that still, i've never got a call for. All i ever get is a tech support that reads of a sheet, and if they can't help. Senior will contacted me shortly, this is bullsht. I'm saving all my tickets and piss poor connection stats to cancel them.

I've got a few in George that are on different ISP's and they don't see this issue.

I have been having issues with international speeds for a couple weeks now. Was told that the speeds I am getting are correct even though I'm only getting half of my line speed. I have since cancelled and am busy looking at other options.

Hi. I think im on to something. Tested RD links on my 25Mbps link vs MTN 3G . The 3G speedtests were also around 25Mbps. The results are shocking. This is why i cant stream any links.Seems like they throttling these destinations. Please can someone test the following link on their HC fibre, preferably 25Mbps as well. Thank you!

I personally think they buy bandwidth but limit it at the vlan. Once reached, we get shaped. I'm busy trying to prove this, because if this is the point, then i have a valid reason to cancel with them. The sales team say only openserve gets shaped, no other service provider

Speed is not that great for me but last i recall using Free Download manager and running multiple threads was the best way for RD on most ISP's on my RAin 5G it even jumps around from 200kbps to 8MBps

Dont use FDM or RD anymore so wont test those for you.

For a 100mb line, the max download speed should be at least 10MB/s

Here is my test of that url on Jdownloader and chrome, both run around 10 megs on a 50 meg line. I'm on Frogfoot trenched in CPT.
