Home-Connect ISP Feedback

Strange, im also on 100 package and getting full speed on international - might be a fibre problem

Anything is possible. Problem is their support people are not interested to assist in any way, so I'll move to another ISP where I can hopefully get some support.
Local is giving me full line speed, so they just said everything is fine and they don't guarantee international.

Yeah i understand your frustration haha they all work on africa time
 
I am also experiencing no support whatsoever, I get packet loss daily from 18:00 to 22:00, from time to time when I get a chance I like to jump online and have a game or two but with 15% packet loss. Its a no go.

Lodged numerous tickets, they get deleted or ignored, given up, Lodged a complaint on ISPA and will cancel.

Time to move on from these twats
 
So decided to go with mind the speed. At the time their packages were very competitive with free installation. Called them today to do an application as their website was down for a few days. Heard that they now charge for installations. Looking at other options. Rain seems to be affordable but heard that it's not stable.

You have packet loss on your fibre line/fibre network, the packet loss is starting on the hop in your fibre network. I assume you on Octotel or frogfoot?

What is going on with Homeconnect in Gauteng.

Loosing connection a lot all of a sudden and now one can say what the issue is?!

I also gave notice today not giving 30 days and not paying installation.



I get 30% packet loss to there servers what a joke.

No I'm on metro fibre.

Thing is, it's got gradually worse over time. Now I can barely even get 2mb on any given speed test.
So much for 50/50 but let me guess they will still be phoning me on the 1st for their R1000...

What a joke
 
I must say, Wirulink was much better than home-connect - especially with international access. I moved to home-connect when I moved houses...I didn't wana pay the R1725.00 Vumatel install charge again to stay with Wirulink so I went with home-connect to get free installation...now I regret it! I've logged calls...their support department is pathetic. They either never get back to you or call you 3 days later and then have no idea what they are calling you...promise to call back..never does. Now I've just accepted the rubbish service and waiting out the time to cancel. Its honestly sad cause there is nothing I can do...no point in logging a call or complaining directly to them. I wonder if they will pass on the free upgrade Vumatel is doing.
 
I'm on a 50/50 fiber connection with SADV and I get 100% almost always.

I'm very happy with their service so far.

Got a mail from HC, saying they will be doing it. From the 1st April to the 1st June. Unavailable to 100Mbps packages and higher for Eastern Cape, Mossel Bay and Rustenburg customers.

I have HC on FrogFoot network - keen to know who has the double speed implemented so far?
 
According to HC's Twitter account:

Network Upgrade Notification: Please Note that Vumatel and Evotel have begun the upgrades and we will confirm once completed

Mine has. Getting 200mb. My line is 100/100mb, but they left the upload untouched. Also noticed my IP range has changed. Used to be 154.xxx. now its 197.xxx.

Awesome. Which province are you in?
 
Strange, I'm on HC 100/10 trenched with frogfoot and only my upload speed seems to have been upgraded.
