Home-Connect ISP Feedback

Anybody else on HC in CT got their speeds bumped up?
Still waiting - In Blouberg

I'm in Bloem, no speed upgrade as of yet. However they did manage to stuff up their billing this month, my debit order goes off on the 15th and they say my account is in arrears and will be cut off tomorrow

They can't do anything right, i changed my banking details, they confirmed the change and still debited the old account! Home Connect Technical support is ****ed up, Admin/Accounts ****ed up too!

I have to agree there, when everything works it's perfect. The few occasions when I had to deal with their tech support when I first got my fibre up had me worried, I had another issue after that which nearly drove me to drink but it was sorted pretty quickly.

Which network provider are you using HC with? Im thinking of moving from Octotel/SEACOM to Frogfoot/HC due to the price increase on the octotel network.

I'm on the Frogfoot network, I've been pretty happy with both HC and Frogfoot so far. Looking at the price differences I see your motivation, you will basically double your speed for the same price just by switching to Frogfoot!

I just upgraded to 200/200 on HC (Octotel - Claremont)

My speedtests are around 90Mbps local (and 5-10 to UK and 2 to US).

This makes me think they only have me on 100/100 - or is it normal to only get 90 on a 200 line?)

I am using wifi - Tenda AC1200, 5GHz connecting at 780Mbps - which makes me think it isn't limiting things, but is that wrong?

And is HC/Octotel doing the free upgrades? Will I be missing out because I went for their top package (200/200)?

Don't think this router has a gigabyte port. Therefore speeds will always be below 100Mps.

Thank you - you're right. And they can't get me a new router during lockdown. So I changed the package to 100/100 for now.

That router does have a Gigabit LAN port , and it does look like your on a 100/100 package. Also The international speeds look appalling .

What are your international speeds like with HC? , would you mind running a speedtest to Coreix London and letting me know.
