iPhone 14 discussions

I too was not bowled over from 12 to 13 although that change up had the macro lens and the high refresh rate screen … this time around the change is even less of a thing … it’s properly going to be like “I just spent all this money to have the exact same phone”
2-3 year upgrades work pretty well, as far as iPhones are concerned. I wasn't sufficiently impressed to make the jump to the 13 series, but I'm somewhat tempted by the combined features that the 13 \ 13 pro had and now with some additional bells and whistles in the 14 \ 14 pro. That being said, it's not like I'd be first in line to get one, it can wait.

This is exactly why I don’t get caught up in this “performance“ kark. I’ll leave it to your experts.

Anyway:

So going by this trend we should see a RAM capacity upgrade in the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max to 8GB RAM while the standard 15/15 Plus will stay on 6GB RAM.

This bodes well for previous Pro iPhones (12 Pro and 13 Pro).

I do wonder how much more RAM the Dynamic Island will chow through though, but I think 6GB should be fine, I have the 2020 A12Z iPad Pro with 6GB RAM and that still works beautifully when doing multi-window and Safari keeps most tabs open for a long time even on iPad OS16.1.

Soo noticing nothing mentioned of the ultra watch in SA Istore comms makes me wonder if we’d see this watch in SA. Asked a istore techy the same question and whilst not sure him and the rest of his peeps felt the same … that we might not see the ultra watch initially !? Who knows

Not cool.
Explains why the peeps at Vodashop I was at just now looked puzzled too.
Oh well, I’m in no rush, for as long as my Series 3 holds up.

Surprisingly (with the price increase and financial uncertainties), UK already has almost all Pro models gone OOS for store collection and delivery dates pushed back into October within less than an hour this afternoon.

Apple are on a roll since the 11 series, they seem to have the correct product mix and I think with the 14 Plus we may see new highs being reached on sales. A lot of people complained about the weight of Pro Max models now they can get the big screen and big battery with a lot less weight in the 14 Plus.

I wonder if the 6.7” 14 Plus will outsell the 6.1” 14.
