You shape the cloth to the base of the stand though - nothing to tug on. ;)

In what scenarios? Can't say I've ever seen vertical lines on my 42".

Hey the special price of 9999 for the c550 was at govan mani and game will price beat it to 9799.

The c550 doesn't have a swivel stand. It's a beautiful tv. Brilliant. But due to crazy mind I returned it and am now set on getting the ps42c450 for 5999.

If I had to redo the buying of a tv I would have just stuck with the ps50c550. U can't go wrong at that price. But once again no swivel stand.

Makro has the 42C430 for 5299 while Game has an amzing special though LG (same specs) for 4699.
I was going to go for the LG, but decided that sitting 3-4m from tv, i want it bigger.

Haha will cause tv to come toppling over when kid pulls on cloth or even silly puppy gives a good tugging.

Pp do u experience any vertical lines with your c450 I can't remember do u have the 42 or the 50

My 1 yr old daughter has already started reaching for my PS3 controls under the TV (that i tried to keep out of her reach).
Soon the TV (esp. if its a 50") maybe dangerous for her (and she just does not listen, the little devil).

i thought hd ready was a resolution of 1280 x 720 but the ps42c450 on its spec sheet has 1024 x 768 as it resolution... what does this mean? that it not hd ready?

True (mathematical) 720p is 1280x720, but when talking about TVs, 720p means 720 or more vertical lines.

Furthermore, 42" HD Ready plasma's have rectangular plasma cells, which maintain the 16:9 aspect ratio.

So at 1024x768 with rectangular pixels, a 42" HD Ready plasma is a 720p 16:9 wide screen HD TV.

Since there are less pixels/plasma cells in a 42", it downscales the 720p image. Which is indistinguishable from a viewing distance of ±1.5m+ compared to a true 720p.

The 50" HD Ready 720p plasma's are 1366x768 - so a 720p image is upscaled.

Just FYI, the new 50" Panasonic 720p screens are 1024x768 as well... For example, the 50X20 - I was surprised when I saw this.

Cats has the ps50c430 for R6999. Awesome tv for the price.

Thought I had a good deal standing in a queu for hours, now cats has the tv for the same price :P

Damn that's tempting. I'm having a bit of a difficult time deciding whether to wait for the new Samsung range to come out or pick up one of these, since new models are often better at the same price-point, or cheaper for something similar. The missus is also pushing for a TV and she wants 50", which I'm happy to oblige her with.

I was also worried about the new range, but decided to take the plunge after hearing talks of it only arriving in july. Doubt that you'll get a new range 50"at that price though?

my mom got herself that LG set (LD460) its really nice.

while testing its embedded media capabilities i noticed that mp4 files (720p or 1080p) will cut out at around the 1hr mark, other files like avi arent affected. havnt even tested if mkv's work on it yet, maybe next weekend. otherwise great set! one of my friends has a similar set but his has an ethernet port? must be a diff model?

Anyone see that 24hours has the euroline 32" for R2100? Has anyone used this brand b4? & can provide feedback about picture quality

I am so gonna buy this!
