I went to Dion yesterday to buy the 59" and I was told it was an error and they are sorry about...

.........Now get lost!!

read the fine print... (Errors and omissions excepted) ?????

was also there this wkend and picked up a pamphlet. its still there at R11999.

just got the samsung game pamphlet. Hdr 51" @ R7299. Should I spend the extra R1300 for the 3D? Also is reflection a problem on these as well?

Well, none of the new Samsung plasmas in SA have an AR coating (except the 64D8000)... so they are very reflective. But how much the reflections bother you is a personal decision.

Well I did notice a huge difference between the plasma and lcd units on display

I would love to meet the person who's home lighting equals that of in-store! That lighting will kill your eyes!!!

For sure.the reflections were caused mainly by the long florescent tubes. I got spotlights atm, and they can swivel around.as for the sun, darker curtains will solve that.

PP I need your advice,

I'm looking at the 1080p 51" D550

If I put it at the end of my queen size bed will I be able to tell the difference while watching 1080p content?

Or should I save 3600 bucks and go for the D450?

I want to use it mainly for movies both 1080 & 720

Go to the shop with your movies on a flash drive and test from your viewing distance. ;)

I suppose it is my eyesight and that alone is the key on noticing the difference, I suppose it is arrogant to ask other people to speak for my eyes :)

I shall do so!

I tested various plasmas in store and went for the 51D550. I took my own movies with to test as well. From my home viewing distance (2.8m) I could very easily spot a big improvement on the D550. But I do have trained eyes from working in a photographic studio for years and not everybodywould be phased much by the difference. The D450 does still look excellent.

awesome, thanks for the feedback, I'll probably also go for the D550 or that A600 1080p projector for the same price maybe 1k less.

I finally bought a tv, 51" samsung plasma hdr 3d from Game. Now I just need a table to put it on.

Nice! Did you get any 3D glasses? If so what are Game charging? I wall mounted my 51". Looks great on the wall.

I did not get any.was told they go for about R1k but discounted with some movie. Would have wall mounted if I was not leasing.

Havent bought a new tv yet. Must still check out prices. Sinotech, Logik brands in a 42" size from Game, are they any good or steer clear of them?
Sinotech's used to be recommended. I did consider one myself as well. THe nice thing is that they come with 5 year warranty, as opposed to the 1 year warranty from your premium brands. Also come with the wall mount bracket.
