LCD and Plasma Bargains

That must be a mistake, 51" and 59" of the same model costing the same price?

If that price is correct it is an absolute bargain!

Just went in the shop. It is a mistake it should be around R19000.00 but because it's advertised they have to give it to you at that price. All the brochures online and in shop have them at that price. Problem is they say they have no stock. I wonder if you can pay now and then just wait till they have stock as you'll have to wait atleast two years for the price of the TV to drop to R12000?

common excuse when they make mistake on the prices

So what you do then is say "Oh ok, well I'll still take it at the correct price then"... see if they magically get stock of the item..

If they do, pay the advertised price...

Model PS59D550
Samsung 59" 3D
Was R20999 "Hot Deal" R11999

I assume the "Hot Deal" ends on the 12th as well? :)

Just want to say that my samsung PS42C430 plasma blows my sony KDL-40CX520 out of the water in terms of brightness, so much so that I'm wondering if the LCD is supposed to be so dim...

Now if I can only get them to admit the D490 isn't Full HD, on twitter they brag about a Full HD 3DTV for only R8999 when in fact it's only HD ready.

If i was you i would tell them that you are prepared to pay twice the price of the TV if it is FullHD, but if it is not you are getting it for free :) By the way what they doing is called false advertisement and if this was somewhere in EU or USA they would be in a big pile of crap for this. But as we all know TIA.

I don't really care about it, I have the D550, just concerned when I see a handful of their twitter followers saying "wow" and "amazing" stating it as a hot deal.

I went to Dion yesterday to buy the 59" and I was told it was an error and they are sorry about...

.........Now get lost!!

read the fine print... (Errors and omissions excepted) ?????

Something doesn't sound right.

LCDs display white better than plasma - and are much brighter. A plasma is dull in comparison

Agreed. Would guess the Sony has some sort of ambient light sensor thats intervening lowering the brightness?
