I have been experiencing torrent speeds of around 4kbps (up to about 10kbps depending on time of day) on my 4mb line (Ubuntu Torrent so very well seeded). Now I have got no problem with being shaped but according to Mweb Shaped "means that traffic is prioritised and channeled in a specific order, for example web browsing and email traffic will be prioritised;" What I do have a problem with is being throttled down to 1% of my line speed. Constant speeds on torrents immediately imply throttling because if it was just prioritisation then the speeds would vary because of different levels of traffic over time. I experience constant speeds that don't exceed a maximum (in my worst cases 4kb). I understand why torrents are throttled but at the same time no where in the terms is it implied that shaping extends to full blown throttling and there should be a maximum level for throttling explicitly stated in the terms. I'm sure you would agree that 99% throttling is little on the extreme side when we paying for this service, might as well be using 384kbps ADSL then. I know that many people are experiencing this, you need only look over the forum. So I ask: Please MWEB either change your shaping policy or provide transparency and explicitly state it in your terms.
Kind Regards
An Annoyed Mweb Customer.
