4mb
Durban
10-15 kbps max .... since this morning
tried dns name and IP
Using no non-standard dns addresses

Thanks Mephisto. Can you check back with me on Monday and give me an indication of what sort of speeds you reached this evening and over the weekend - I'd like to see the full range.

384k shaped uncapped. Connect to news.mweb.co.za. Between midnight (I assume, haven't stayed up that late to confirm) and 7AM, downloads run at above 30kb/s, at exactly 7am it drops to between 3 and 4kb/s. Even torrents run faster than this.
Also, up until last Sunday (27 Mar 2011), the mweb news server gave decent speeds the whole day, which is the part that confuses me.

Location: Mayfair, Johannesburg
Line Speed: 4mbit
Account: 512k Uncapped Mweb
Before Speed: 50kbps (browsing & newserver)
Current Speed: 1kbps (browsing & newserver)
Newserver Address: news.mweb.co.za
Newserver Port: 119
Threads: 4 (before all connectable & downloadable, now - all 4 times out)
Websites are also timing out as mentioned in the myBB thread

Thanks in Advance
Cheers
D

Above sent earlier @ 12H49 to Will in pm, no feedback yet...

jip, something obviously changed because of the seacom outtage that happened at that time, on the bright side hopefully they will now manage to actually fix the ct server for once grrrrrr

Would not be able to tell you, called the helpdesk and they said its a 4meg account. pm'd you the username.

Hi Redeemer30

I have checked and cannot retrieve your private message; the username would be much appreciated.

nope hes got 4mb line the upload can burst sometimes on speedtest.

had 512k line with 4mb line, was same thing

Now I'm hearing from CT guys that they have full line speed again on the news server after it being busted for weeks. Meanwhile the KZN and JHB guys either can't connect or get 0-10 kbps. Way to go fixing something and breaking it for the rest in the process, my oath.

If it makes you feel any better, my news server is also still crawling at about 3kbps and I am in Cape Town.
