I wonder when we are going to see the Bell flex helmets make their appearance in South Africa.

So Bell calls the technology MIPS now and it is in the the MX-9, MX-9 Adventure and Qualifier DLX helmets which is available in South Africa.

Mostly because it doesn't have a visor

Almost certain I've seen that helmet in the shops before.

Maybe it was just a very a similar looking one.

They changed the branding from flex to MIPS which is more an industry standard and then all of a sudden you can find a moto, dual and road helmet that use it. Currently LEATT and 6D0 are also developing helmets with similar safety systems.

Sena will always be the headset of choice if parting with more money isn't a concern.

For the price the Spirit is good though, but the Sena is great.

What model Sena do you own and what are you review on it. I still have on of those on my to buy list.

I also have a knock off Chinese version but have multiple friends with the Senas and although I haven't ridden with it I've tried it and it's worlds apart.

Also they happily chat with each other at massive distances where I can barely use my knock off for calls.

Only got it for music so not a big deal but if I did it over again would just go straight for Sena.

I believe the one I've tried was the S20 model.

Is the Spirit Bluetooth headset the headset of choice?

IF budget is the biggest concern yes then they are OK. I had one. Otherwise I can HIGHLY recommend the Sena S20. I would hate to go back to the Spirit now...but I'm spoiled now.
I use it every single day.
A nice middle ground is the Senna SMH10 or 5 or even the Sena 10S Got the 10S with my S20 for my pillion. Works great, just has less features. They also even tune in to FM radio if you want.
You could also look at the Interphone and Scala brand.
If you do Group rides you will find more Sena guys than Interphone. Scala is somewhere in the middle.
