No Data connection but full signal

Hi,

We are taking this matter very seriously and we are in continuous talks with our network team regarding this issue, at this stage we are attending to the challenge by logging individual calls as the broader challenge was resolved as confirmed by our network team but we have highlighted to our network team that many of our clients on this forum are still experiencing the problem.

CellC|TM

Why log hundreds of individual calls when clearly this is not a localized problem and your network team obviously are highly misguided or misinformed... you are losing countless clients and potential clients, imagine if you guys were transparent with regards to this problem, literally no one would be signing new contracts. This is the extent of this issue and we will keep on it until its either sorted out or everyone knows the situation they will be getting into if they sign up with CellC. This investigation of which you speak, should have reached the directors by now if it was so high level, and I doubt they know about it. CellC has yet to realise that the severity of this issue is far greater than they think.

I think the newspaper media is our next approach, and then television. We want service and transparency. Not some representative giving us false hopes and half lies on this forum.

The CellC rep here is useless. I beg you to just tell us what the problem is... When will it be fixed.... and why he comes up with stupid excuses.

I don't think the rep is useless, I just think that there's more here than what's being said. What you said about excuses I agree with though!

I am also getting fed up with the congestion and service offered by Cell C.

I have been using Cell C's 3G mobile broadband since 2010 and it has always been great until about a month ago. I should point out that I get all 5 bars of signal strength and can connect no problem.

However, I am now getting download speeds of 0.1mb/s, compared to 9mb/s before. They were clearly annoyed at everyone jumping ship to 8ta, so they launched a prepaid 100gb deal, but forgot that you actually need a network that can supply that volume to a large number of users. I told the muppet on the phone (technical support? what a joke, my grandma knows more about mobile broadband than these guys) that this is a bandwidth issue and that, no, my computer and/or dongle is not broken.

If it continues, I will be going to my local Cell C store and shouting in a loud voice, then walking out with a full refund. Seriously, this service is not fit for purpose. Only in Africa could a company get away with selling a product for thousands which then simply does not work.

In Centurion today and the problem still persists. Absolutely BS. I'm laying a complaint with the Consumer Affairs people with the CPA as ammunition. I'll also look into providing a template for people to do the same, once I've figured out the entire process.

We've paid for a service that isn't being delivered. The CPA was designed to stop this. Time to start making a bit of a noise.

I fully intend to get either a full refund or a credit for the MONTHS of services not rendered.

Is CellC down in the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town. My phone has automatically switched to Vodacom

The Power is out of my hands and I can't use it:mad:
Please CellC fix this problem otherwise you going to refund me for my pre-paid and 2GB contract.

Using my 8ta 2+1 now.

I freakin cannot recieve incommong calls at my home. Bloody network either drops the call or voice mail. Signal is full bars

I live in Benoni, East Rand, been using Cell C data since 2010 and never had any problems ever. Starting 4 weeks back the data flow started to freeze up to 10 minutes at a time in the evenings, it started getting worse and worse until now at this point where there is no data flow at all.

I have been phoning the technical help desk since this all started 4 weeks ago, every time to be told by the operator that they have logged my problem and will attend to it. Feedback has been ZERO.

Last week when I phoned again, I asked the operator if she had a Cell C dongle and if she has tried to browse the web, at which she replied yes and that she was experiencing no problems. Am I to assume that this problem is unique to customers only and that Cell C staff are exempt from this problem of no data flow and timeouts?

My experience so far this month has been a nightmare with Cell C - Operators deny getting any data flow complaints - I was promised that a technician would check this problem in the evenings in my area, of which has not happened - I have had no feed back in the last 3 weeks at all - Cell C operators deny that there is a problem.

I thought I would never see the day I would have to make a post here like this about Cell C as I have always been a happy customer, have converted at least 30 friends and family to Cell C and am actually almost in a state of shock now at what has become of this service, it saddens me beyond belief.

I urge Cell C to please believe their customers when we say there is a problem, I urge them to please give us feedback as this has now come to a point of total frustration.

Signed - A happy customer that is becoming more and more sour by the day.

On 25/2 I phoned Cell C technical help desk in order to have it recorded that this area was was also affected (full 3G signal, no connect). After painfully establishing that the problem manifested on my PC, notebook and cellphone, the agent concluded that it was indeed a network problem and ref 1752538 was issued. I was told to wait 48 hrs for no feedback. I duly phoned again on the 27th and quoted the ref and asked for feedback. I was then told that the ref was issued for a sim check and that everything was found to be OK. I again experienced the agony of convincing the agent that it was indeed a network fault. I was issued with new ref 1753931 and told to wait 7 days for no feedback and then phone again. By that time I may have replaced the my sims with Vodacom despite the greater cost.

7 Days are up. no feedback no change. I don't think it is worth trying to follow up.

Its seems that the CELLC REP has gone underground , i have not received any feedback to my PM's nor is he responding on the forum.

It's looking more and more like either:
1. CellC does not believe that there is a problem. That the people who are supposed to check the problem areas do not do so at the times mentioned. Or that they check and they are lazy so they just report that everything is working. Or that no one actually even bothered to investigate.
2. CellC knows there is a problem but they can't fix it. It's likely that this is the case. It may be because of congestion which means they can't do anything about it. Or it may be some network fault that they don't have the expertise to fix.

Either way, their silence on the matter is driving me insane.

I really want to know what steps we can take to get our money back.

Good day,

This has been one of the longest weeks for our team as we continuously push for all the network issues raised here to be resolved by our network team. We apologize for the delayed feedback regarding calls logged but we reassure you that we doing everything we can to ensure that our network team attend to every query we have logged with them.

lol yeah (already got my VC number - not going to bother porting tbh)...it's worse now than it was in around 2002 when I gave them a go. Clearly abandoning Siemens for Huawei was not such a good move :-/
