Hi,
As cellc we don't want to loose clients and we are pushing our network team to do all they can to resolve the network queries logged and escalated them.

On 25/2 I phoned Cell C technical help desk in order to have it recorded that this area was was also affected (full 3G signal, no connect). After painfully establishing that the problem manifested on my PC, notebook and cellphone, the agent concluded that it was indeed a network problem and ref 1752538 was issued. I was told to wait 48 hrs for no feedback. I duly phoned again on the 27th and quoted the ref and asked for feedback. I was then told that the ref was issued for a sim check and that everything was found to be OK. I again experienced the agony of convincing the agent that it was indeed a network fault. I was issued with new ref 1753931 and told to wait 7 days for no feedback and then phone again. By that time I may have replaced the my sims with Vodacom despite the greater cost.
7 Days are up. no feedback no change. I don't think it is worth trying to follow up.
CellC is getting worse and worse. Tonight is the worst so far. Even edge isn't working.
I am in Cape Town and went to return my Cell C data package last Thursday and, surprise surprise, they were amazed that I was even having issues.
I demanded a full refund, as my service has not worked for 4 weeks now (full signal, hardware fine, no data throughput).
They said they could only issue me with a refund after an engineer had been to my house to physically check everything and that one would call me as a matter of urgency. I said OK, but if someone has not been within one week from now, you will be seeing me again and this time my mood won't be so calm and pleasant. Have not heard anything yet.
The thing that really makes me angry is that thousands of users are paying for a service that does not work, yet Cell C really do not seem to care at all.
I feel your pain. They told me the same thing. I told them I was not interested, hello peter'd, phoned, bitched and moaned so much they cancelled my contract and refunded me. Also, log a complaint on ICASA's CPA form on their website. I got a reply from ICASA on the same day and a call from CellC within 2 days of that. Just insist on a cancellation, they have to cancel it. Not sure how lucky you will be getting last months money back but try. Good luck, you'll need it - you'll get drunk getting passed from department to department.
BTW: CellC is one of the better ones where CPA is concerned. They wont charge you any fees for the remaining installments, just for the device. So there is an easy way out to port away in the end...I'm on prepaid now, not signing a cellphone contract again as long as I live.
