No Data connection but full signal

Again the forum cell c rep asked for my details and nothing... Had another cell c ref and nothing.

Even if only a hand full listen, don't use cell c!!! They cant deliver what they sell.

They stole my money as the dis not give what they said they would

Yip, spent R2500 on a Giga100, but have been without internet access for the past 6 days. So, today I bought an 8ta 2+1 just to have something in the mean time. Their "My CellC" account access has on the website has been stuffed for over a week now, so it looks like when **** breaks at CellC it will just stay broken.

And i assumed all u guys are sorted out since no one was posting recently. Yes, this issue is definitely not resolved.

Saw this last night, full signal, 0 throughput, unitl around 10pm. Contacted the cell c people, they said my Huawei modem wasnt supported, but in the early mornings and late nights I can get max speed.

Using the newer Hi-Link types, with its own interface. So unable to check signal strength in db's.

Heres the Cell C way of resolving this issue.
1. Open a reference number.
2. Close a reference number.

Repeat.........................
1. Open a reference number.
2. Close a reference number.

Eyes roll....and repeat once more
1. Open a reference number.
2. Close a reference number.

This process is becoming so MONOTONOUS.

Still major problem with HSPA+ data in Pretoria (near Loftus) on my smartphone.

Good throughput of data during the day. In evenings, 100% signal but zero data. And this seems to be every day like this.

After many calls and bouts of shouting at my local Cell C store, they finally sent out an engineer to my house. Within 30 seconds, he confirmed the issue (excellent signal strength, unuseable data throughput) and said "I will keep the ticket open". Then off he went. That was over a week ago and my problems persist.

My Cell C 3G data service has now been unuseable for almost 8 weeks. I have honestly never had service this bad in my life. I mean, I am paying per month for data and have had zero data for 8 weeks!

Upon calling the technical help desk & speaking to a consultant i was then told the Cell C technicians are currently working on the problem. He did admit its due to network congestion.

If u guys here are reading this & are probably wondering when all this mess is going to end.

Well, thats probably anyones guess.

Network congestion is the biggest cop out phrase they could possibly use.

What it actually says is "we don't actually know what the problem is and we are bull****ting you with a vague term while we try to figure it out".

Our data will expire by the time they figure it out.
Hes probably following instructions from senior management.

Please read this thread for updates on the CellC connection problems--> *IMPORTANT*-Cell-C-data-connection-problem-update.

I have absolutely no problems with CellC but it all depends on your location. ;)

You and ginggs post that but after that post there was a post from Cell_C that the problem was fixed. If necessary I will find the post for you. From what we have found out so far it's because of congestion problems that Cell C doesn't work. There's been no indication as to which towers they are fixing. So yes, it does depend on your location but if you are in a location where Cell C doesn't work, well then you have paid for nothing.

And if you look here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/506380-List-of-areas-with-CellC-data-issue
then you will see that it's quite a few locations. So yes, we are happy that your Cell C internet is working but you have not been following this situation at all. That one post was a one post wonder. Since then we have been told that it's fixed and then that it's congestion problems. Open support tickets get closed without any help. That post was made a long time ago and it is most definitely not the place to look for updates.

There are no updates.

Updates, What updates ?
Just one lackluster update in past 4 weeks is hardly convincing enough.

At least u are getting what u paid for unlike the rest of us affected, who paid for a product that we cannot use.

I bet u would also be throwing a tantrum if u were one of us affected by this morally unacceptable nonsense.

Had to buy an 8ta data card. 2gigs of a 3gig purchase can't be used :-((((((

Also bought an 8ta bundle now ... I however am sitting with 84 useless GB's left on a Giga100. :(

Cell C can learn a thing from our Prince of Darkness Eskom. Employ a load-shedding schedule on their network - then all users will experience all the internet some of the time, instead of all users experiencing no internet all of the time. ;)
