After many calls and bouts of shouting at my local Cell C store, they finally sent out an engineer to my house. Within 30 seconds, he confirmed the issue (excellent signal strength, unuseable data throughput) and said "I will keep the ticket open". Then off he went. That was over a week ago and my problems persist.
My Cell C 3G data service has now been unuseable for almost 8 weeks. I have honestly never had service this bad in my life. I mean, I am paying per month for data and have had zero data for 8 weeks!
Not true. The post you are refering to is sticky in this section: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/507180-*IMPORTANT*-Cell-C-data-connection-problem-updateYou and ginggs post that but after that post there was a post from Cell_C that the problem was fixed. If necessary I will find the post for you.
Cell C together with its vendor Huawei uncovered an underlying problem on our IT platform. Cell C and Huawei are working around the clock to find a solution to the problem.

Please read this thread for updates on the CellC connection problems--> *IMPORTANT*-Cell-C-data-connection-problem-update.
When there is an update, it will be posted to that thread. The post I pointed to is sticky and as long is sticky, it is valid.
What you are going to prove? It doesn't help your crusades - "Unite against Cell C" - whow, whow!
Maybe they thought for a moment, it was solved, but it is not and it is a fact. The post I pointed to is sticky and as long is sticky, it is valid. Capish?
Someone is working hard in your mind, in the way I should regret my decisions. :-(
Consider this, Mr. Solicitude.
You are absolutely correct to expect that sticky thread to at least contain some further updates on what has happened thus far on the connection problems some people are experiencing with CellC. I hope that your issue will eventually receive some much needed attention as I had similar problems with my CellC connection in the past, but have managed to resolve it with them.Updates, What updates ?
Just one lackluster update in past 4 weeks is hardly convincing enough.
At least u are getting what u paid for unlike the rest of us affected, who paid for a product that we cannot use.
I bet u would also be throwing a tantrum if u were one of us affected by this morally unacceptable nonsense.
I think AKC personally is responsive for this mess. He made a big move with cheap big data packages and didn't take into consideration engineering aspects. In result network received big hit, while the load should be applied progressively. He needs to tell his under-performing team members that feedback on a wide scale issue like this shouldnt be a one-time event or are they simply following policy.

Now there is a problem, I am glad there are working on it, not like the last time when top management team was forced to resign.
There is no silence.A lot of us parted with a lot of money and we feel cheated and rightly so.[...]
"When truth is replaced by silence, silence is a lie"
Moving along, A lot of us are getting very impatient. Its been dragging on for much too long.
There is no silence.
On your side, do something constructive. Sell package and stop moaning. It has market value. Somebody else will be happy. And remember, If not Cell C, you wouldn't have cheap data contracts from Voda, MTN and also 8ta would kstart from a different level. I am saying that everybody benefit from
Cell C whether is using it or not. You need to recognise it. It works for you.
Ok, are u suggesting that some of us sell our package & move on. What about those tied on contracts, should they make someone else pay for their contracts. Sorry, but it doesnt work that way. Most of us were better off with Mtn or Vodacom. Sure, their data prices are more expensive, but at least they have a working network.
The truth is, moving from other networks to Cell C is like moving from the frying pan straight into the fire.
Did Cell C cut out when you were already a subscriber, or was it always bad? It only costs a few rand to buy a bunch of prepaid sim cards and run speed tests across all the networks when it's time to take out a contract.
If i was living in the Kalahari Desert, then most definately i would purchase a few rands worth of sim cards and run stringent tests.
But to answer your question, All networks in my area have been running smoothly in my area for years. I find it rather annoying when Cell C asks similar questions.
Is it your area.
Is it your smartphone.
Is it your dog.
Is it your cat.
