I've just received my invoice for next month. Once again we have been promised that changes would be made, but again this has been delayed until after the 18th of the month, locking me into yet another month.

This month we are apparently going to be moved to a new (we don't know) or different (we don't know) network. But it's secret! Why? Apparently some people have already been moved yet still we can't be told? And if past performance is any indication, we will be kept waiting until after the 18th to be moved, so that once again we become liable for another month's expensive subscription before we can properly test whatever has been changed this month.

This NONSENSE about single threaded downloads, which is just about the MOST fundamental thing an ISP should be able to do, has dragged out long enough now. For R799 a month, I have to tolerate 50kB/s downloads on a 6Mb/s line. A 64MB update from drobo.com has now been downloading for 45 minutes and it’s only got to 75%. And no, I CANNOT use multi-threaded downloads, these are applications downloading updates and the like, over which I have no control.

Yes, I have seen all the explanations, excuses and justifications about what is happening/what went wrong. And while I have sympathy and understanding, enough is now enough.

Fair warning, Crystalweb: I have been patient until now, but unless I am on this new network by the 1st February, which will give me time to properly evaluate your changes before the 18th, I will be terminating on the 1st February. And no, giving me access on the 15th to test it is not acceptable. We all know that networks change and vary over time, so I need sufficient time to evaluate.

I really like your style and chutzpah, and your support has been top class so far, but now I need you to deliver on the very basics.

Could not have said this any better myself friend.

If you need any 20mbps VDSL testing on the new network, let me know :) I'd love to get a feel for the new network when making my decision.

At this stage though, based on the last month's performance, I won't be renewing/upgrading my trial account.

I think that this new combination of the new network + current network will alleviate a lot of the problems people are having.

It's just a matter of time.

Nope. Problem with current network is not capacity on CWs side.

You right, it's not. But as I understand it they are not looking at replacing the old network with the new one but rather run them simultaneously.

Maybe I got it wrong.

Welp, more than enough time to hand out accounts between now and the 19th of Feb. As DuckieZA mentioned though, it needs to be enough time to be able to judge performance over a good period of use, especially since right now you guys are the only ones on it and without more strain it's impossible to know how it'll actually perform under normal conditions.
