Have a button that will unshape everything for an hour and we have Afrihost 2.0 on IS.

;) We're also considering something even better than that.

You guys have plans for things like payment options, usage portal, line probes etc?

Or we going the ANC route and giving out tablets to students in schools without toilets, desks and chairs.

;)

Absolutely. The website is just about ready to deploy with all of these in place. Just a few minor issues we're resolving but in the final legs of that.

Afraid I can't just yet. Contains new products and surprises we're not ready to reveal just yet. Think certain light-based cables. ;)

5 minutes on Google later and I think I found a good way to reorientate my router .. hint hint.

Ah, then you're seeing an old version. No worries there. :D

You need to do some more digging around on Google there. :D

Those new products look good but make me worried. Would current capped and even uncapped clients remain on their respective price/product when your new site launches?

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the product descriptions and pricing from that old page. You'd need to see the new site with final product pages and integrations done to see the full product range and associated, accurate descriptions. What you're seeing are placeholders for the time being. ;)

Good to hear, loving my capped account at the moment.

Downloading Nvidia drivers. Speeds constant for minutes at 110, then 93, then 137. Just bought a new graphics card, had AMD before. Surely stuff like driver downloads shouldn't be shaped? Driver size is 295MB. So painful.

I'm assuming you have a capped account?

This is my only gripe with CW:

Yes, I agree, they are the bestest best ISP around right now.

It's just that I would have to label them a "streaming/moms/pops" account as 99% of people don't give a damn about nvidia drivers, and big downloades (mkv's) go overnight as line-speed.

So, in that sense it's awesome, and with stellar super powers fixing problems (mainly line/telkom), but I'm perfectly happy with my IS uncapped account with star rating as I only use my internet when I come home from work, and regardless of what stars i'm on, I get line speed after 5pm and all weekend (not that I make use of that, but I know I can - that one out-of-sync-episode you need pronto), like an unshaped account.

I used to stream (netflix) but that got old so now I just watch what I download, last month on my 4mb account/10mb line did 430GB (90% overnight - but last night I torrented 4 episodes of the voice at 1MB/s at 8pm) and was still on 5 stars

Just saying, sorry to put a spanner in the works but I just don't agree with WA's style of shaping and rather give unshaped after business hours like a normal IS account, which unfortunately gets throttled (not that it's happened to me, but have heard of other regions) if there is load on the network, but I like it that way as it shows the health of the big picture and you don't have this wishy washy shaping.

This is good news!

For some reason I have 100mbs fibre in my area...but they are too damn cheap to upgrade my ds to 10 from 4...bastids.

If your fibre offerings are good...I'll give it a spin!

I'm assuming you're talking about Telkom fibre?

I was in the same boat as you with 100mb fiber dangling in the street and "only" 4mb capable mini dslam.

I've moved now (last 6 weeks) and now I have 10mb :D

Problem with Telkom fibre is they still force the IPC route which is a big problem and makes it unviable IMHO.

Yup. Telkom fibre.

I regularly see their trucks at the surrounding boxes doing work and have been reading how people have been upgraded to 10 from 4 the last few weeks. All in areas adjacent to mine. So I am HOPING they are working their way towards this side.

No. On all fronts.

@Crystal Web.

I'm streaming the Super rugby game atm using a 4Mbps line.

The streaming experience is mostly good, but at time it is just rubbish.
If I look at my PfSense incoming bandwidth it averages at about 3.43Mbps, which is good, yet the the quality are equals about 240p or even worse at times.

Six or seven refreshes might push it up too 420 or better. I'm not sure if I actually(can)receive 720p on my line ito streaming.

Can you explain this please? I obviously receive the bandwidth, so I assume it is not ISP related?
This is a question, hoping for an explanation and is definitely not an attack on the service.

Edit:
I've added two pics.
Look at the score and not the overall pics. Obviously my cell phone has degraded the TV view.
