Hi, I was wondering if its worth it to switch from a 2Mbps Uncapped account from Afrihost, to a 4Mbps uncapped account from you guys? We use about 90 - 150 gigs a month so if I'm going to be shaped or throttled, its just wont work for us.

I switched my uncapped account over from afrihost because of all the shaping that they have been doing, so are you saying you are not being shaped? Or is it only throttling specifically that bothers you?

I want what is advertised 4Mbps Uncapped, not capped uncapped if you catch my drift.

EDIT:
Ow yeah, how much are you paying in total for your line and data now?

In this place called South Africa, having proper uncapped is a privilege and you pay for it.

CW's DNS was also completely broken for me, Saturday evening (new network). Had to switch to Google's DNS as well in order to get anything to work.
On Monday I also get to spam TelkomZA here on the forums as well. My ADSL mode keeps on switching to G.dmt instead of ADSL2+. Call centre reset my port twice today, but every time it reverts back to G.dmt.

I see my paid for capped account stopped working this morning - from router:

Remote message: Login incorrect

Turns out CW have changed my username from @crystalcapped to @crystalpremium.co.za which ties up with the usage reports I queried a few pages back and no, I didn't receive an email informing me of the change

... and btw, the client portal usage stats aren't working this morning.

New backbone... Enjoy ;-)

My account also stopped working this morning. Cannot authenticate.

Using backup accounts.

I have always been on crystalpremium so not sure if I've been moved.

Logged a call.

Sods law. Moving away from a certain ISP to get away from that networks' weekly arse-collapse only to find out that CW has moved to the same network.

At least CW has decent support so there is that.

Can't complain about the IS backbone it's running smoothly atm with p2p & iPlayer.

So it seems we all have to switch over to Google's DNS in order to get the internet working.

No worries, guys. You can discuss the backbone side of things now.

There are a few intermittent DNS issues at the moment which are being worked on. Should be fixed up shortly...
