Also: this weekend on CW has been A+

Had 4 people over for a LAN, streaming Twitch, playing games, downloading linux over and over and over...
Was great with a few hiccups here and there.

My NNTP downloads are up to their old slowness - peaking at 200KB/s and drop as low as 50KB/s on the IS news server between 12am and 6am.

I did report it to support so we'll see what happens. WA capped backup account is running full line speed (4Mbps line).

Can you send support these traffic logs please? This is on 4Mbps uncapped? Also this isn't sustained 50KB/s right? Just drops temporarily then speeds up again?

Get yourself a paid news server. http://www.tweaknews.eu/nl I have zero problems with them.

Hi Crystal team. As per post on ADSL thread, my issues turned out to be my Telkom line not verifying.
Thanks for the amazing die-hard attitude to help getting it fixed.

Add this one to your knowledge base though for future cases :)

Its Monday, lets see what happens.

So apparently ISPs do have direct access to ASSIA...

Telkom
@TelkomZA

Hi. We see that you are a wholesale customer. You would need to speak with your ISP regarding speed migration. ^TL

There is no speed migration. I was downgraded by ASSIA without any headsup having no issues with my line

ASSIA is the automated system implemented by Tekom at the exchanges. It's the system that drops sync if it identifies issues on the line. ISPs integrate into Telkom's wholesale systems instead. I will look into this one for you today to see if we can get this sync back up to where it should be.

Hey man! Sorry I didn't see that post either lol!

Going to push an update for your profile today. Let me know if it breaks anything as well (hopefully shouldn't). I'll stay in the office late tonight (as usual :D ) so that you can test.

@Crystal Web, did you get my PM from yesterday?
Hope it doesn't read negatively, was anything but that. :p

Okay. Lets see what happens.

Not sure why you are asking every ISP for info about ASSIA? as Crystal Web explained, ISP's do not have control over this at all as it is an automated process.

Do I get a discount on line rental, as I am bundled with you guys? Wanting to upgrade my 4 Mbps to 10, but I think I was quoted Telkom's price for the ADSL...

'Fraid not. We ran it as a loss leader for some time but considering that the majority of our support's staff time is spent on Telkom related issues, and how we've invested in going above and beyond on DSL lines, we cannot run them at a loss any longer.
