Cool, the trial account is giving me a solid 200ms now. Afrihosts is currently 250ms. Looking good so far. I'll check how it goes at 7->8pm (afrihost spikes in ping then for some reason to ~350ms)

I had the same experience...in addition to packetloss. CW gives me none of those issues. Hope your experience is the same!
 
Just a quick question, Our neigbouring bulding has recently had Neotel fibre installed, can CW come into our building by using the same route? (they litellary dug up the pavement 3 metres away from ou office to get the fibre in.)

Neotel will in all likelihood require you to use them as the ISP - it's not open access to the best of my knowledge. In terms of laying fibre down, this is done on a case by case basis dependent on the specifics of the project and subject to feasibility on our end. So it's not possible to answer just yet.

Well, the big stuff is going down from 0:01 till 05:59 on this side because I don't like the unpredicted thunder storms or Eishkom:D.

Thanks for the prompt response, i have signed up for the feasability study, so let's see what happens

As for Neotel, i wouldn't use them as an ISP even if they paid me

On that note though

Neotel as currently operating in the market is largely a collection of duplicated infrastructure. If the VC acquisition happens and ICASA view the matter in the same line as our submissions things there should be pushed by the market to change a little which could be very good.
 
Signed up for a free 1GB capped account but never received any details. Been like 4 hours, is it automated or does it have to go through some verification process first?
 
new 10mb premium uncapped acc -
hey CW , been with you guys since last night streaming amazing was a bit disappointed with nntp and ftp late last night speeds couldnt get near to 10mb but tested just now and seems better and stable, maybe the more bandwith has helped :)

will queue up for midnight tonight and see how it goes

I'm guessing Western Cape?

I identified the issue there and we resolved it without anyone really noticing (we thought). Our new systems will soon do this automatically which is quite cool.

It's manually verified at the moment. Of all days to be announced top ISP in SA, this was the worst, as we're deploying new systems, which means my staff are all working overtime to do vetting and provisioning. I even hired some extra hands today for this, but the uptake has been tremendous. Luckily it's not impacting on network quality which was my biggest fear, but it looks like we got our numbers right again. :)

I do apologise for the delay though. It's not normal, and our automated systems will be back up over the next 48 hours. They tie into the new portals and systems, which is why we had to pull them for a while as we deploy our new features.

No problem, just thought something was broken. Says on the success page it's automated so had the impression it would be instant.

Want to test SA's number 1 ISP again :D Congrats!

Hey guys; so my current WebAfrica Account stops being in effect at the end of this month. My usage is around 150GB - 200GB per month and I'm thinking about getting Crystal. I just want to ask what the shaping policies are like and how downloads affect them. Also how good are the streaming capabilities for youtube and twitch in particular during the day. Thank you :)
