Here is a clear example of the account shaping imposed on a home capped account during business hours when playing YouTube. This is a 4mb line.

I would like an official response from a CW rep please on this issue. Why are home capped accounts being shaped on YouTube during business hours?

That looks far too consistent to be a coincidence.

Wonder if they do the same with the premium uncapped accounts.
 
And at 17:00 shaping gets lifted.

Line speeds up to 440kB - 4mb line speed.

All I want is a statement on this damn issue. Will it be resolved by the IPC deployment? Anything please!

I have noticed the same trend from last week. I was hoping a CW rep had responded to your other posts regarding this. Have they?

No they have not. I've also sent private messages. Deafening silence.

All I want is an answer on these issues. Not that bloody hard.
 
I have unfortunately seen the above shaping issue for the last 3 weeks as well - getting progressively worse. I am praying that the IPC resolution fixes this, but I can only state that my 20mbps VDSL account is behaving like a 2meg line, at best, for all streaming, iOS app updates, Windows updates and http downloads. You know, the things that should just work.
 
Crystal Web is the worst ISP I have ever encountered. This whole month it has been a drag to get any results, my dsl is rock solid but the web pages a sooo slooow. CW bye bye.
 
Also couldn't stream anything decent last night on 10MB line. Seems like my line is also limited to 5.6MB, ran several tests with the same results. This IPC fix can't come earlier!
 
Netflix streaming was really crappy last night on a 10MB line last night. Could barely push 480p.
 
Someone threw the big switch on the 1st. Definitely shaped on home capped.
 
From monitoring it seems the shaping was released on streaming at around 23:30.

So shaped in the day till 17:00, then unshaped, then shaped again at 20:00 odd until 23:30.

Just bloody lovely that.

What good is a home capped account then?

The overwhelming silence from anyone related to CW on this issue is disappointing. I believe(d) them to be a little bit different and that they would at least keep us updated.

I need to apologize to some people - you know who you are :( - as I clearly misjudged CW.
 
Ive just canceled my account. Pity CW tries to sort out my issues only after I decide to cancel. Where to next.... hmmmmm
 
Nice to see now that I have to start up my AH Free Account just to get into Facebook. and windows updates are crawling so slow I am considers starting to lick my wrists and bleed out by the time it finishes.
 
Well, I am still a HUGE CW fan....... No speed issues at all. I must note that I DO NOT DOWNLOAD at all. I am a STREAMER, which is what CW is excellent at :D

I do have a Business Premium account but as I always say: "you get what you pay for".... get a standard "VW Polo" account, but expect a "Porsche" account, well don't. That isn't how the real world works.

So far, I have had the 5-star treatment from technical, accounts and customer service, so I am sticking with the best ISP I have experienced here in SA. Forget about: Afrihost, VOX Telecom, Axxess, MWEB and the rest... I have tried them all... if you stream, then CW is the only choice :D

Yea...I don't agree with this. No offence intended.

The "you get what you pay for" argument is valid in some cases. If you want to download 24/7 for example. By all means. Pay for that priority data.

If I consume 40gb of data between 8am and midnight it would be a lot in a month. And all of that is from YouTube and streaming.

It should not be the norm to have to buy a business class product for basic home usage like watching a few streams, twitch and some YouTube. No sir.
