Anyone else been having retarded second hops with tracert the last few days? When I moved over to CW I had no problems like exchange congestion or anything like that but since being with them Every evening from 20h00-22h00 there's congestion. like 2000ms+ congestion, which is bad but I can live with it seeing that all other aspects of the usage was working wonderful, Steam sale came around, bought games and started downloading them (Between 00h00-08h00). Now as of Tuesday second hop on tracert was not lower than I think it was 124ms, anytime during day or even at 4 in the morning, I'm on a premium home uncapped account and I'm not even close to the usage before getting shaped so it cant be that, spoke to a guy on the site by the name of Steph, he helped told me it must be congestion between 20h00-22h00 and he will log a ticket, then it went well for a few days now its terrible all the time..

Did some real world tests and speeds hold true. Very very happy.

Cancelling Telkom copper and ADSL tomorrow first thing.

Which account and which provider are you with for the line?

Any feedback on the lacklustre performance of home capped accounts since IPC capacity issue has been resolved?

Something official and simple would be welcome.

My account performance has improved - but it is a far cry from what I used to experience when I first signed up.

Only slow support has been from billing.

The general support via the chat has always been fantastic to be honest.

As of right now my capped account is flying. Very happy. Will stick around for another month.
 
Billing and "Legal" aren't conventional "departments" that work on getting things done in real time and using live chat and so on. Billing has the additional problem of a billing cycle being in play - we don't get many billing queries on the 12th of the month ...

(we don't do contract drafting on live chat ;))
 
Urgh, streaming back to unimpressive levels. What is going on with the EC and the PE area? Whyyyyyyyy?

Touch wood, haven't had any issues in Durban on business capped. But then mine is mostly NNTP, not streaming.
 
My Home Premium uncapped 4Mbps account runs well, but I have regular timeouts/disconnections. This does not last long and then it will connect again.
I can't really say if it is the ISP or something from Telkom's side.
Any input on this?
