Official Meizu M2 Note thread

Once the stuff arrives il let you know. I am out of town for about a month now but ya I think I ordered a couple extra bits and bobs.

Awesome. Don't mind paying, its the wait that kills me, 60days for Delivery?! Damn. And they have some pretty cool covers too.

I am not sure what just happened but listening to a music vid on youtube and my phone just gave a big volume boost! :wtf:

Damn ... I hope it stays like this!

So I finally bit. Bought one from aliexpress.com for about R2100. They say it's the China version but spec wise and language wise they are basically the same. I checked the bands and the China version vs International version support mostly the same bands except for the CDMA band China uses.

Can't wait but will take a while with Singapore post then very likely that there will be a duty fee added.

Hi All

Considering getting one, just need to work through some home expenses that take priority - please update all experiences of phone!

Still fine. I get a full day on 4G with light usage. Switching to 3G only mode extends that dramatically. I just leave it on 4G though.
How light is light? I'm getting about 10 hours of solid usage out of my Note 4. Roughly 4 hours screen on time. Screen at about 60%...

Ok, I have figured out how to get the volume boost. I have just listened to a music vid on youtube app....then closed it, unplug earphones, plug back in, open youtube and start video, then lower the volume with volume rocker, then increase it again. Big volume boost.

Sounds like too much effort :D

I'm looking to get a new phone within a month or two and the M2 Note is one the one's I'm considering...

Just wondering if anyone here can tell me about the GPS?

How fast does it locate on a cold start?
Accurate?
Any issues using it under cover, cloudy skies, inside car etc.?

My current phone for all it's faults, has a fantastic GPS, it cold start locates in under 2 seconds and has zero issues with overcast weather or being inside a car etc.
Some other devices I've experienced in the past have been pretty crappy, my last tablet took up to a minute to locate from a cold start and would lose signal inside the car very easily.

A snappy GPS is pretty important to me. ;o

Thanks. :)

Im seriously considering this phone as my bday present, birthday is next month :D

, it cold start locates in under 2 seconds

I have a hard time believing that. Especially not when starting in a different location. And without the assisted GPS feature (using data to speed up the location finding). No device I've ever used has been that fast...not even a dedicated GPS device.

Most take between 30 seconds to a minute to locate you at a new location (and much worse if you're in an entirely different continent to before XD)

+1

2 seconds is quite unbelievable.

The GPS seems good. It did let me down a bit last weekend. I dont know why, but it just would not lock on properly even after restarting the phone. Used it again yesterday and it locked on in a few seconds and worked great.

After a while of using the Meizu its still pretty amazing. The battery life is still great with moderate to heavy use, lots of browsing, plenty Youtube, Twitter and Some radio streaming, still leave about 20-30% battery when I get home, even then its stay one for a long while.

The screen awesome, no scratches at all even without a screen protector. I did order some covers though, feels naked and vulnerable without them.

I rooted it, installed BusyBox, Installed SuperUser, and Viper4Android FX to get that extra volume bump in sound, worth it.

Only thing annoying is that people complain of bad reception when they are on the phone with me, on my side the call quality is excellent but for some reason on the other line it can be clear and then some funny noise, i'm not sure if its because i'm using both sim slots, one for Data and one for Calls & SMSes.

Apps, ease of use, settings, etc all are still really cool, no complaints there.

The phone is huge, feels light, and is super smooth and has a lot of screen.

4G on both sim slots, Charging to 100% in about 3Hours. Great camera quality, both cameras.

A great phone, great value for your money. I got it for R2700 but I see its at 3K now probably because of the terrible exchange rate, or demand.

Get it whilst you still can.
