OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

As per my post earlier, I totally agree with you on the Telscum IPC prices. Uncapped from years ago gradually changed into your "cheap ass" and "proper" due to this

So while you guys b!tch and moan about Uncapped on these forums everyday, I will continue to enjoy Capped

Nice low post count there, its clear what and you are you fking agent

Please tell me how you come to the conclusion that they have the best support "hands down"...? I would love to hear it.

Leon quickly giving him an alternative account with password 1122 ?

LOL, now you sound like Eksdom, please switch of the pool pumps, lights, geyser, etc. Since when do a service provider ask it's customer not to use it's product?

Listen dude.

I have a 4mb (not OW but IS uncapped for R199) account which was still on 5 stars on the last day of the month and my total data moved was 430GB.

I could use my account during the day if I was bunking work or off sick or whatever so that suits me just fine because I know (I can bet my house on it) that come 5pm and all weekend, I have an unshaped line.

Actually, I have a 4mb account on a 10mb line and it runs full line speed after 5pm always, like clockwork, so put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I've tried them all including Webafrica but Openweb has the best capped accounts by far. Beats other ISP's hands down not because Openweb sells it but because it is IS. IS just have the best stable backbone by far.....

The account just work. Low latency for League of Legends. Fast unshaped access for buffer free twitch streaming. Uncapped data between 00:00 and 6am and since it is unshaped downloads just complete in no time on my 10Mbps during that time.

R185 for the 50GB day time cap and uncapped after hours account it is one of the best accounts I have used since forever.

Webafrica says theirs is shaped but I guess it is all the same. Openweb just have uncapped afterhours usage.

This Openweb account is MILES ahead of the Telkom account. I tried them all and capped is the only way to go now since capped accounts are so good value for money.

You are not making a mistake if you get a capped account from Openweb or ITNT or even Webafrica.

If Hitler did what he did, and then started an ISP with good service, would you support him?

Support Openweb, and buy me my new Aston.

Yeah I try not to support *******s even if there is monetary incentives to do so.

The thing is, there are a number of ISPs who use the IS backbone, that don't share accounts / manipulate forums / offer to covertly buy support / buy likes on their facebook page / lie, cheat and steal / post snotty replies to criticism on open forums / think the world shines out of their anii / ad nauseam....

There's just no good reason to choose Openweb above any of their competitors, except maybe saving 20 bucks at the end of the month...

Openweb is the ****tiesttt ISP in the world. The lies and constant tinkering with traffic and accounts will drive anyone who knows what they are doing up the wall

I have been with Openweb on uncapped gold account for a couple of years now. Ive never had a problem. Speeds were reduced during daytime hours, but totally usable.

The last 4 months have been a non stop ballache. The account has become completely unusable some days, getting something like 5-10kb on youtube streams or FTP protocol. Local traffic speedtest.net always shows full speed, but the reality is most sites are international, and everything appears to be shaped to crap.

Every few weeks I have to go through this whole support exercise with them, after which I get some generic response of them having 'reset my core', or 'changed my routing', and then magically the account is back to full power with no hassles whatsoever. It has been happening more and more frequently though, and now I am gatvol and want to jump ship and try someone else.

The only problem (looking through the Afrihost and Mweb uncapped threads), is this appears to be the same for their users as well. Now I know that Openweb is merely a reseller, and I'm sure at some level IS or MTN is shortchanging them with all the demand for uncapped accounts. But I'm not seeing any real honesty or transparency here. The excuses are all so generic, and the issue is not being solved.

Maybe I should try Telkom uncapped accounts...

BTW all the older accounts no longer have free wifi through alwaysOn.

Leon states it was offered as a "trial" service. I'm calling him a lair on that it was never stated a a trial product, but as a feature!

Mine stopped working. I have been a client of theirs for over two years. I am disappointed. They never informed me of a change in my product.

I see on Facebook they ask on the 4th January who uses the free wifi... Odd that its now gone. Poor Show!

Did anyone take a screenshot of their old offers? Gamersking, Gold Etc?

Have attached my support ticket conversation just in case someone requires some proof that this isn't just shameless trash talking. email trail.jpg

Just another one of their antics.

Best you send your cancellation notice to [email protected] and move to ANY other ISP. None are as bad as OW.

We'll have to take your word for it then. ;)

It's a good time to move. I hear MWEB has a decent Always On offering.

Normally, I wouldn't recommend Mweb - BUT... In this case, Flip, Just move to anyone besides OW... ANYONE.

I moved to WA recently, although it isn't amazing it was relieved from the bull****. Today WA went down so I decided to still use my OW account and omf, its just full of aids. So glad its basically gone forever
