OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Asked them today to give me a capped 50GB account. I can't have no internet at all. They shape everything to death. I mean shaping TeamViewer and RSS feeds that you can't open them. And I can't even get on Facebook, twitter or onto the other services.

Glad I have only one month to go with this useless bunch of turds.

Hmmmm things aren't pretty this morning, Clareinch exchange, web pages taking forever to load :( Is there an ongoing fault? Things got bad last night as well.

If, by "ongoing fault", you mean Openweb - then yes, the fault is ongoing.

Have you seen the Truth about openweb thread yet? :rolleyes:

I had a free 1GB account with Openweb. It now just says "Access Denied. Contact your ISP".

I've contacted them, and waiting to hear back. Maybe they changed their mind about offering a free GB or something. :(

It was a nice backup account while it lasted. Worked quite well actually since it was unshaped.

EDIT: Fixed. :)

Signed up for one of their specials this morning :twisted:

Should have come here first. The 10mb uncapped is worse than my 4mb uncapped with crystalweb. Now they refuse to cancel it immediately because of the one month cancellation policy. Wonder how many people got caught....

One month...? You can only give notice before the 25th of next month which means you will be with them for 2 more months;)

I have asked them to cancel my account about 3 times now, every month. And they ignore this fully, how can one respond to this? Report the debit order as fraudulent? Doesn't matter I guess, by this time next year they won't exist

Worst decision ever, I can't even send pictures on WhatsApp when using this account at home, the 10mb line is idling.

Keoma you should be ashamed of yourself putting such a bad product out in the market and not allowing people to immediately cancel it if they discover how bad it is.

Nothing a quick 1122 reset can't fix i'm sure? :)

So sick of OpenWeb.

Cancelled my account with them back in April and received an email back acknowledging as such. Now they're trying to debit my account again and I owe monies from then. So effectively they say I owe in excess of R2500.

Thank goodness I put a stop to their debit orders back then.

Why would he. Gives you 0 service and you have to pay him because he likes money and to shag people up the wallet...

Thanks for this little tit bit. Will stop their debit order ASAP

Let's revive this thread.

Been with OpenWeb for a few months now - dad's too lazy to switch ISP's.

Through the day, I can't access:

* Youtube
* Twitch.tv
* Steam
* Battle.net services stay connected for about 3 minutes
* Bbc.com (seriously)
* World of Tanks/World of Warships
* League of Legends
* Bizarre websites (pinimg.com? why even?)
* Battlefield 4
* Sourceforge
* Xbox Live
and many more.

When pressed, Openweb recommends to upgrade to the "Gamer's package" or something to that effect, which allows you to access these services from 7PM! Wow!

After midnight, these things are usable again, as if that makes up for the fact that we pay them R240/month for basically nothing.

And then I see ads for them on the front page of MyBB, as if they're actually a real company or something. Is this even legal?

Wow that guy had a stink attitude. Got what he deserved!

Been with OpenWeb for a few months now - dad's too lazy to switch ISP's.

Ouch, that sucks. Put together a proposal, research it out and give him proof that OW are a bunch of con artists. Surely he cannot be happy to be paying for something substandard? Put in the work and just make it so he has to "sign here". Just remember your calendar month!

And then I see ads for them on the front page of MyBB, as if they're actually a real company or something. Is this even legal?

Unfortunately, we beat that discussion in to the ground already. MyBB is more than happy to take their advertising pound of flesh from Keoma and protect his "sponsored content". We can only hope that new people to the forum don't fall victim to the frontpage scam and instead spot this thread.

That is why I block unwanted advertisements. You never know when it will bite you in the behind.

Yet MyBroadband keeps punting these services on the front page every couple of days.

It just shows that the owners of this place are sellouts, and are chasing the cash as hard as Openweb.
