Nobody can take you seriously if you cant even use correct spelling and grammar.

Your post is not related to the post nor is it constructive or helpful in any way... In fact this is trolling, to the degree that it makes you look stupid and a tryhard. Think you should gtfo

So I take it by the lack of complaints, everyone is happy today? OpenWeb/MrBEEP how has the traffic been today? If its the same or little lower than the last two days, what changes were made to allow for better browsing today? Just curious to see how this whole thing plays out, gone from outraged to interested :).

So can all uncapped users confirm that you can indeed use the internet?

I just went back to work today, so i cannot check mine.

I had teamviewer open on my home PC but for some reason cant connect :< so i cant check.

You missed some punctuation at the end there.

Well for me it fluctuates, but is definitely usable.
It seems to slowdown for a while then fly again for a while.

Speedtests go from terrible to full-speed to OK to slow to great.

MUCH better than the past two days... at least I can browse and receive and send mail, not that this is by any means an endorsement of office-hours internet strangulation.

So lets try something new today in helping MrBEEP & Co see where the issue is ;).

First off when posting about bad speeds post your location eg: Cape Town, Durban, JHB you get the drift. Second do the tracert to find out which network you are on, so if you are on IS which we all suspect to be the problem run the IS speedtest: http://speedtest-rba.isdsl.net/ and post your results. My suspicion is that you will see sub 56k speeds on that speedtest hence indicating a big issue. Now whenever I phone Telkom to get my line checked they have me run their own speedtest: http://capetown.spdtst.saix.net/ and give them the results. Now 9 times out of 10 when I have done this with my OW account the IS network is dead while the Telkom speedtest shows full line speed, therefore indicating the issue is not with my Telkom line.

If we can all do this maybe we can prove once & for all that the issue is with IS/OW & not our Telkom landline?

/if this did not make sense my apologies gotta run off to work...
Hi!

OK, so first tracert to Openweb showing I am on IS:

Tracing route to www.openweb.co.za [41.72.150.7]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.1.1

14 24 ms 24 ms 24 ms mail.openweb.co.za [41.72.150.7]

Trace complete.

Then Telkom Speedtest to Rosebank:

Last Result:
Download Speed: 3478 kbps (434.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 422 kbps (52.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 32 ms

IS test:

Start Time: 12:08:46
End time: 12:08:49
IP Address: 196.215.76.248
Download Size: 409600 bytes
Time Delta: 3.4547390937805 seconds
Download Speed: 116 KBytes/s
Line Speed: 928 kbits/s

My experience at the moment is as it should be, i.e. normal browsing and email, Youtube runs well at 720p and even Hulu is working fine on HD and the same was the case yesterday. That certainly raises doubts about the IS speedtest's accuracy and usefulness. SO why would my account work well and others not? I am on 4Mbps Gamers king, with a 4Mbps line in Welkom. It shows that despite what some might think, not all Openweb customers are unhappy.

Firstly - although I vent like an unpaid whore at times :crying:- I have to agree with this comment.

Please note Mr. Beep - a vote of confidence or two :D:D

Secondly - my internet is useable today. Thank you. :)

Where can I see whether or not my account is shaped?

My internet works great but downloads are shockingly slow when I am home.

Just wondering if I should not upgrade to the new gold account special package from the silver turbo.

(10mbps line)
