Router Battery Backup

Our proline ups has died, it lasted all of 5min with loadshedding today and it's always been plugged into the wall socket.

Now I do have an Osaka gel battery and charger and this cable from the ups with 3 prong plug point.... So what do I need to get connect the gel battery to this multiplug thing?

I've got this charger thing so now sure how to use it with the gel battery do I just leave it plugged in?

Is it a long running unit?

Multiplugthing needs something to plug into to convert the 12v -> 220v,they are known as inverters
The UPS is a rudimentary inverter and charger combo

Thanks. I get it now. Any recommendations on a good inverter that's decent on the pocket?

Anyone got this UPS? R485 seems like a really good deal. @Yuu

UltraLAN Micro UPS (DC, USB & PoE) - 17W 8.8AH

Stock and sell these all the time, brilliant little things and have tested it to last around 5 hours for a standard ONT and Router. Just beware, the Y cable splitter for the ONT/Router is around 15cm.

I'm using one of these. Can recommend.

If you do plan to make use of the PoE (Power over Ethernet funtion, just keep in mind that it's only 100Mbps. (your 1Gbps local lan / 200+ Mbps Fibre will be throttled) I'm using that to power my Ubiquity APs

Speaking of which. Where's the best place to get DC cables for these things?

Anywhere that sells DC cables? Like its probably easier to build your own or find a bunch on takealot. Uniterm tend to have some but only 1m.
The crazy thing is I've actually looked around a bit and they're more scarce than one would imagine. I was at Communica a couple of weeks ago and they wanted to charge some stupid amount (I think about R25) per connector. I do see now they have cheaper one's on their website - I'll scratch around for those next time I'm there.

That 1m guy from Geewiz is actually pretty ideal for me. On my desk at home I have my fibre router, wireless router, external HDD and NUC all running off 12V and, apart from the cabling looking pretty ghastly, the power adapters take up a whole multiplug. I dropped a 12v 5A PSU in my last banggood order and now just have to hook this up to the devices. Geewiz had a 4 way splitter going earlier in the week which is now headed my way. I can cut the 1m guy in half - one half can feed the fibre router (wall-mounted below the desk) and the other half can plug into the 4-way splitter to feed the other devices on the desk.
