Yes & no.
I bought it because it was relatively well priced at the R6,999 end of life sale - and I liked the fact that I could still use a 2nd (albeit proprietary) battery . But I soon learnt that they drop producing those batteries and even though they advertise them, you couldn't get any. A bit dodge, I think ... But other than that, it performs well ... can limit charging capacity to save battery ... can use high speed charging if needed ... 100w USB C ... etc
Would I buy another ? Nope !
River 2 is also R6,999 now with a LiFePO4 battery . They reduced capacity slightly, lowered the USB C PD, 600w I think… and a few other changes. I'd still take it over the 'negatives' of the new one .
But why for a router backup ?
Isn't that overkill?
