The weight loss thread

Thanks and wow. Well done. I lost 6kg but in 2 months and mostly due to indoor exercise bike and cutting carbs. I think 3kg per month is sustainable for me and if it continues, I will be close to my target (80kg) by July end.
Try that USN Diet Fuel shake. Strawberry or chocolate. Its about the closest diet thing I would consume, other than Weetbix.

Dont buy the Nutrilife porridge. I got kidneystones from that. It turns to rocks after a while. Its like eatting cement porridge.

It's on special at the moment just that flavour. and a 4.5 rating from 66 reviewers, says a lot.

It takes a ridiculous amount of willpower to stick a needle in yourself for the first time
It’s not that bad come on. I’ve had so many of them I lost count between blood tests, vaccinations, pain injections and what I like to call the best feeling man ever invented: voltaren and cortisone shots.

Also did a stint with some pens when a doctor thought my sugar was too high but I stopped when it stabilized

Just don’t focus on it think of something else and use the small % of brain power left still thinking about it to just jab it into you properly (pens are subcutaneous anyway and it can’t go that far) and push/press

Thanks. I am on a diet, even financially. :p In general, I am very cheapskate when it comes to buying things for myself and if I don't lose 15kg within this year (August is ambitious target but end of year will make me happy as well), I will probably consider this.

Also, I look at it this way. R649 gets me something that I will probably finish within 3 months. I waited for few weeks for a good bargain and got an excellent second hand 16Kg KB for R500, which is probably going to last me lifetime.

Remember its all about calculation. If you consume more than about 2700 calories a day you gain weight

2700 a day is a lot of calories.

That's about 113kg's worth of body weight if you are sedentary and 95kg if you work out regularly.

Yeah I got it right. Just took a couple of false starts together with not knowing what to expect. I'm not great with needles, as my veins are very difficult to work with and often having blood tests, donating blood or having an IV requires multiple stabbings and much moving the needle around to try get it positioned right.
Not the same thing I know, but it's left a psychological mark

No idea how quickly this stuff is supposed to work but I haven't felt hungry since lunchtime yesterday, and had a fairly small dinner last night. But even if that's placebo, it's good.

You’re ramping up dosage?

It has the best effect at full dose but I also experienced the effect from initial doses.

Yeah starting at the 0.25 for a month.

Just had brunch, less than I'd usually eat. Felt empty, not hungry, if that makes sense.

Are you almost close to your "ideal" weight? I mean within 5kg ? I have heard that the last few kgs are the hardest to lose - not sure how true of course.

Right ****it I've had enough of struggling

Let's see if this works as well as they say

Tracking calories now, just for interest's sake.
I've been in 1000-1500 calories per day deficit since Saturday, according to Garmin. Some hunger but not a lot.

And that deficit appears to be understated by 500 calories too, as the deficit is from a goal, not burned and the goal starts at about 500 less than the resting calories before adjustments.

I'll be honest, spending so much on these injections is also a motivator. If I ever feel like snacking, I ask myself whether I REALLY want to waste £200 this month...

Weight definitely trending down, will begin checkin weighs every Saturday morning going forward. Baseline 123kg as of last Saturday.

wow - 1000 calorie deficit per day is huge. You are looking at almost 4kg loss per month if this continues. For last 2 months, my calorie deficit was approximately 700 cals per day (diet & exercise) and it has been reasonably consistent 3kg/month loss for me in last 2 months, even if it bobs up & down at times during the month. I believe that is water weight related.

Couldn't resist a mid week weigh-in. I'm at my lowest weight in 2 years... Down 3kg this week so far, yes I know a lot of that is water, but definitely not all.
weighed in this morning at 89.8 KG. SO just over 3KG down for the year. Its been a rough start to the year at work so Ive not been eating as I should and Ive been training a lot less than I wanted, but its progress.

Till I embarked on weight loss journey, I swear I never realized how difficult it would be to lose weight. Even losing just 1kg per month takes lot of discipline in terms of diet & exercise.
