The weight loss thread

93.7kg today so just 400g loss in last 8 days. It is getting harder after the initial wins.

I will just continue with diet & exercise. I can probably just add 15 minutes more to cycling but can't really restrict diet any further now.

I envy you as 75Kg is my target. What weight did you start with and what is the aim ?
About 80kg thats when I realised that something is really off..just after the vax btw. Severe sinus infection - steroids to combat twice and I just ballooned thereafter.
Aim is around 70kg and then full maintenance and little goodies or just 1 cheat day.

1.2kg weight increase since Wednesday. WTAF ? I haven't done anything different.

Right ****it I've had enough of struggling

Let's see if this works as well as they say

I'm intermittent fasting, cut carbs right back and exercising 3 hours plus a week and the weight isn't moving and hasn't for months.

This is some new miracle weight loss drug thing.

Ah ok, hope it is a miracle then. What is the time frame for results? Prescription or over counter?

PS: As a sidenote without preaching , I also struggled initially to lose weight.

What I learnt about cutting carbs meant removing ALL carbs from my diet so that I can force my body into ketosis. This meant I had to learn to read nutritional labels on food products to learn what to look for, and completely remove carbs and sugars from my diet.

My issue was thinking a biscuit here, a piece of bread there, a chocolate bar here was ok, when in fact it kept kicking my body out of ketosis.

I've got ketostix so I'm pretty aware of the carb intake thing and its effect on ketosis. I guess I'm still just eating too much. Hopefully this is where this comes in. Releases hormones triggered by your intestines when you're full.
This is prescription only (got it privately, but I meet the NHS criteria so I'm going to try to get on it via them, but I'm not prepared to wait so will pay my way until I come right)

Good luck then. I am very keen to see how effective it is.

Reminder for myself and hopefully some others.

Starting the year with 99kg, which is about 20kg overweight as per BMI chart.

Plan is to reduce up to 2kg per month by lot of exercise and changes in diet.

Let us see how it works out. :)

1. Skip Breakfast
2. Have a tiny lunch
3. Eat Supper more healthy
4. Do Exercise in the evenings before shower and sleep so it burns what you eat.

I have been doing just that. Lost 6kg in a month.

And get one of those Xiaomi digital scales, not a normal dial one, they arent so accurate.

Also get an indoor Exercise Bike, Rowing Machine or Treadmill. You can save on the gym fees, unless you want the more full body workout. (The Rowing Machine will do that). And you can sell the exercise machine for little loss compared to the R700pm on Gym fees which you will never see again.

If you do want to go for something more diet wise. Get the USN Diet Fuel Shakes. It tastes like a McDonalds shake which is actually quite nice. The Herbalife stuff is disguisting. Avoid that. Most health shops uses USN Diel Fuel Shake powder for their health smoothies.

Remember its all about calculation. If you consume more than about 2700 calories a day you gain weight, if you consume less (and reduce via exercise), you loose weight. Its purely maths.

There are a few good health apps to track things and assist you. Also a digital scale. And do some exercise. If you bicycle a normal light slope will make you loose more weight than heavy uphill. You will burn about twice as much.

Do about 15 minutes of exercise for 2 weeks, then 30 mins, then 45 minutes then 1 hour. Listen to music or watch a show. You will get used to the pattern

There is an app called NOOM. Use that. Works well. But its more a guide. You can get similar with say Samsung Health.

Thanks and wow. Well done. I lost 6kg but in 2 months and mostly due to indoor exercise bike and cutting carbs. I think 3kg per month is sustainable for me and if it continues, I will be close to my target (80kg) by July end.

It takes a ridiculous amount of willpower to stick a needle in yourself for the first time
