The weight loss thread

OVERALL STATS:
Start 2023: 106.5 kg
Start 2024: 81.3 kg
End Jan: 80.8 kg (-0.5 kg)
End Feb: 79.6 kg (-1.2 kg)
End March: 78.3 kg (-1.3 kg) [New scale]
End April: 76.75 kg (-1.55 kg)
End May: 74.70 kg (-1.80 kg)

Weight is fluctuating by 1 -1.5 kg very often so not sure how long I'll stay in the 74 kg range. Still, quite surprised by the drop for May. Thought it would be much lower since the last two weeks I haven't really been able to hit the road.

Time for my update.

I weighed this morning and Im currently on 93KG. Its been a rough start of the year but hopefully I can get my training and eating habits back on track.

Visited a cardiologist recently and he was quite concerned with my visceral fat, so yeah I need to make a plan.

.
7/6/2026: 112.8 (-1.2, -10.2)

Was a hectic couple of weeks with family coming to visit and food discipline going out the window. Got back on track last Friday at about 114 still, and shed a load of water weight I'd obviously put on due to that.

Lowest I've been since we'll before covid.

are you weighing yourself at the start of the day after a wee and poo naked without any food/water or what what?

I think I've hit my plateau where I don't think I'm going to go much lower. Have been taking in more calories to fuel my runs, so weight loss is a bit stagnant now.

How much lower do you need/want to go and for what reason?

I would suggest it is a good time to get a reasonable estimate of your body fat and start thinking in terms of body composition instead of weight loss. At this point, you will probably have to go to more extreme measures to drop more weight (fat) and you may actually benefit from focusing on picking up a little more muscle with resistance training.

Diet wise, the next step is probably to look into timing your calorie intake before and after your workouts to support your effort and recovery. That's the next level up.

Also Google 'Recomping' and see if you think that will be something you want to do.

I'm pretty happy with where I'm at now. I could maybe look at losing another 2-4 kg since my body fat % is still high (based on smart scale readings, of course taken with a bag of salt!).

Big plateau here too. Not surprised though, just going to wait it out...
Have been a bit ill the last couple of weeks, so no exercise been done, which probably doesn't help, but I've got time.

take an average weight over a week, on just a single day measurement, it can be misleading either way.
Average for the week is a good indication of the direction of travel

Detox slowly and resume light training whilst getting back on eating plan.
Thanks. In one month, we were in different places every 3-4 days but I did manage to walk about 5K steps every day on an average so not too bad but I also ate quite a bit so expecting 1kg gain at least.

Looks like all those walks did help in not gaining weight. :)

But now restarted with no food intake after 6pm as that worked so well for first 4-5 months this year. I kind of relaxed that rule later.

Plenty of walking last month has had unexpected benefit. Size 36 jeans also needs belt. I was almost size 40 beginning of year.

Next target - 85kg by October end.

Nicely done!

While my weight is more or less stable now I seem to have lost 2cm around the waist and chest so I guess I have to downgrade to a size 34 now. ;)
