Unrestricted APN

Do you want/need an APN that allows connections initiated from outside the APN?

Yeah works most the time but the past week been struggling to connect to clients.
 
Ahh thanks v3g good to know it not only me , connecting from a telkom adsl line in midrand to my client office in bedforview , Johannesburg just using the standard port 80 for now worked most of the time on that port . Let us know when the service is alive again ,and thanks in advance for your help.

I am situated in centurion cant connect to unrestricted apn using iburst keep giving me blank ,using same port as larryking port 80 , was wondering when this apn is gonna be stable like vodacoms internetvpn connection works very well but the unrestricted apn is what i am looking to use.
 
I am also experiencing this intermittent problem on the unrestricted apn lately. I switched back to internetvpn about 5 minutes ago and everything is flying faster anything. This is not the first time either ... I have switched back to internetvpn several times over the last few weeks ... everything slows down, I cannot even access these forums, just times out on everything. There definitely appears to be an ongoing problem with this APN and I hope Vodacom can sort it out.

V3G I did send you a PM regarding this (as per you request) about 3 weeks ago but I have not heard anything back (I know you're a busy dude).

I have been on internetvpn ever since that email but yesterday after loading Vista on my desktop I switched back to unrestricted and that did not even last a full day and I am back on internetvpn. It is nothing to do with signal strength because I am in the same area all the time and when I am on internetvpn it all works fine all day every day so there really must be a gremlin lurking in the unrestricted apn.
 
Anybody working of this apn yet or is it still down been trying for a week but no luck ?
 
have done loooooong time ago and it has been working just last week it has been down and i see from the forum that i am not the only one struggling with the apn. were is v3g he usually lets us know if its up our down.

I've been working on it non-stop (posting this from it) and no problems so far.

What can't you do and where are you based?
 
i am able to connect on the apn but it does not allow any incoming connections , worked fine about two weeks ago but lately just comes up with a blank page saying error , i am based in edenvale.
 
likewise i cannot connect to my server just comes up with an unable to connect page ,unrestricted apn starting acting up since last week.
 
can anyone connect to the unrestricted apn connection using a telkom adsl line or a iburst connection keeps giving me a gateway timeout for the past week now ,only works if i use a vodacom connection will not allow any other incoming connections, what gives is this apn ever going to be stable ????????

Thanks for responding v3g before i pm you just wanted you to ask your engineers if the unrestricted apn has been sorted out for the pre paid users yet because the last time i pm you they did phone me to test the connection but then later on they said that they saw that it was on a pre paid sim and said that the system still had to be made live for those users , this was about a month ago i tested it when they said it was going live and it worked for about a week , then after that nothing i can only connect to my router which dials up using the unrestricted apn , with my laptop which connects with a vodacom connection , but with no other connection just keeps giving me a gateway timeout error but with the vodacom connection it goes through with no problem.

Hmmm...you got me there. Can't see why not, but I need to check up....

Did it use to work?, must be.., can't see why it should not work...??

Sorry, I'm confused. Only slept two hours last night and am on my third scotch, firing on only one brain cell (i.e. 50% capacity...) so let me rather ask the clever people.....;)

OK, the clever guys says I'm being dof, it'll work just fine on pre-paid. Maybe send me the number and I'll provisioned it for you.

Will this work for Satellite VPN

Will this help me with Satellite VPN, cannot get the Internet VPn provisioned on my pre paid?
 
Hi V3G

If I previously provisioned through the vodacom4me website, will it still be active. I'm trying to set it up on one of those linksys routers that I got with the contract but when I put it on unrestricted it will not connect?
 
why bother this is the most unreliable apn that vodacom has , hardly ever works they say that it is up , but i cannot connect to it at all , i check my router it shows me that it is connected and allows me to surf the internet but leave it on for an hour or so and it does absolutly nothing , have been trying to figure out this one since last year but it will work if its wants to and most of the time does not allow outside computers to connect to the system it just says that it is not their .thought it was me or something but then why when i connect up an iburst system everything works perfectly for as long as i want it too and can connect to my system with whatever pc i chose.
