Vodacom iPhone 4 Pricing Unveiled

Dude What other phone compares to iPhone4?

I have to agree with you. I used a BB Bold for almost a year then swapped to an iPhone 3GS. I can honestly say no other phone can do what the iPhone does. For email, surfing, and general ease of use, it's unbeatable. Then there are the 260,000 apps. It costs me more on the data than the BB (R129/month compared to R60/month) but it's totally worth it. I couldn't go back to another phone. I recently tried the HTC Desire for 2 weeks and it was awkward & lacking compared to the iPhone. And this coming from a guy who slammed iPhone for months until I actually tried one. Can't wait for my new 4.

+1

Good on MTN though for showing some teeth on their pricing.

no pay in

I'll only be back in the country on the 5th Oct and the 1st thing I will do is sign up with MTN. Have you guys seen how the older 3GS is still retaining its value? If you don't believe check out BoB :D

Im glad I bought mine from Canada. BEing locked into a contract at those prices are nuts. Good luck to teh MTN guys, their billing system is so stuffed up and their data usage policies so **** they will rape you.

MTN pretty good deal but for all you iPhone fans going to MTN, dont forget insurance @ R179.00 p/m + additional monthly airtime of @ least R200. Lets face it, anybody buying the iphone cannot be using only R200 airtime per month (& if you are, go for something cheaper). Not too happy bout that MTN call rate, & I bet you its per minute billing.

I dont get the Iphone hype, I have converted about 5 users to the BB bold 9700 and they swear they are much happier

We all know that Twilight is literally literary trash and it has no business being popular. Everyone should read and love and worship the literary genius of Bram Stoker instead, but hey, there's no accounting for taste.

Aesthetically the iPhone 4 is just the sexiest, most minimalist phone out there, if that's your thing, and it appears to be what a lot of people want. I don't think anyone is arguing that the iPhone is the same business work-horse as the BB. Like it or not, the iPhone tends to set the trends and pushes other manufacturers to improve and innovate and perhaps that's something we could be grateful for, instead of indulging in iPhone-envy.

i think you're hypnotized by the hype that you cant use google to see other phones. I'm not saying the iPhone 4 is a bad phone, but you can get phones that does the same and more for a better price.
And really dude - Facetime - that's such crap, you cant even use it over 3g - wtf?

id rather take the SE X10 instead. just looking @ this iPhone makes me sick

Anyway, Vodacom pricing/packages is pretty crappy if you ask me, I was expecting better.

So, two years or so ago Vodacom was the exclusive iPhone partner in SA. Their pricing now smacks of complacency. MTN is the new iPhone player and they are playing hard to take away Vodacom market share. Good for them. Vote with your wallets, people!

amagad and i just got a desire -_-

Not a bad choice, I guess. Best phone in the world, by some accounts. Pity about the pay-in amount though. It would be nice to see the same level of competition from MTN on all the other phones too, but I guess we can't have everything :)

In bundle rate: R 2.30 per minute
Out of bundle rate: R 2.85 per minute
Estimated 86 minutes per month

ROFL..what a 'bargain'

Which is why I moved both my contracts away from MTN, after they decided to cancel the MyCall packages. I am actually quite surprised that they are still in business. Either a lot of people do not do the math before signing a contract, or they just accept the higher call charges and fork over the money ...

Just got mine from an MTN store.

MTN 200 @ R379pm (comes with free iphone 16gb, R200 airtime, 25 sms's, and 150mb per month)
I wouldnt call that a rip off at all....

What about the pay in ????

Why am I not sitting on some BB or the Galaxies forum? Cause I am not interested. I am not some messiah sent to convert people to my way of thinking, and insult those who do not. (I am not that conceited, arrogant or full of myself).

I understand they are good phones. I have investigated them fully before making up my mind, and I understand that many will think they are better, and you know what, I am fine with that. Reason I am okay with that? Read Paragraph 1.

The fact that I am okay with the existence of other phones, and people preferring them over what I like says something about me.

The fact that you are not okay with the existence of the iPhone, or other people preferring them says something about you.
Add to that the amount of energy you put into your hate, and the picture is even clearer.

I use mine mostly at night and that's why I take the Off peak 200 package. That's more than 200 minutes per month!

You guys with this iPhone... did you get that bumper that solves the reception problem?
No Free Bumpers. Called Istore. They say these phones don't have a reception issue!!! Wonder if it is a new batch which fixes the reception problems with shorting out of aerial with your hands or Apple just sent the last batch of the faulty phones to RSA????

Anyone know????
