Weight Loss Thread 2014

Who has tried sleek geek?

http://challenge.sleekgeek.co.za/f101/

How intense are the work outs?

I have a stupid shoulder. I can't do things like burpies. And I hurt it by doing stupid things like the position I sit on a spinning bike... Meh. So most of these programs has things in that I just can't do.

I can do plank but when I move into a push-up the ligament and muscles go wonky and get stuck in places.

My point is. I'm kind of broken :D my thyroid doesn't work my shoulder is ****ed and a few other things.
Because of my thyroid I have to exercise to keep the weight down, I do yoga and Pilates and spin. Sometimes I jog.

I would like to encorporate other things but the bodybuilder thread is of no use since I do not want that either.

Bla bla bla ... :o

I hope you get where I'm going?

I am doing the current Sleek Geek challenge, 2 weeks in. First week I was out of action with a cold, and second week was a bit of a stuff-up with commitments.
This is a new week, so going full-steam ahead!
This is my third SG challenge, and I do them mostly for the little extra push and incentive. There is 4 main categories, with R10,000 for winner of each of those categories. My wife and I are also paired of for the "Buddy" challenge, which has a R10,000 Wellness Warehouse voucher prize.

With the SG challenges, you are free to do whatever you like, eat what you like, train how you like, take whichever supplements/shakes you like - as long as it's legal.
You do get access to the SG Vault, which has a whole range of eating and training plans. The eating plans are mostly centered around "paleo" and created by a registered dietitian. The training schedules are created by a PT and also range from gym type schedules to a "Do anywhere" schedule that you can use at home or while travelling. They give you some tools, it's up to you whether you use them or not. There is definitely no magic potion or anything like that... I can promise you that those who do well, give it 110% for 8 weeks.

Just remember that your dream body is at least 80% diet, and 20% exercise - as the saying goes "Abs are made in the kitchen!"
My main goal for this challenge is to try get from 14% body fat down to 10%, and then start with a clean winter bulk.

The current challenge closed yesterday, so unless you signed up yesterday for heat 5, you'll need to wait until the next one in June (Winter Warriors).

My suggestion would be to join the Facebook group, and also the SG Reboot group and consider doing a 30 day Reboot. There have been some amazing success stories from people that have done Reboot.
