Must get me some of this!

"We are proud to announce the release of a new expression of Teeling Whiskey and our first release of Peated Single Malt, Blackpitts.

Teeling Blackpitts is the first Dublin Distilled Peated Single Malt. Our newest release is triple distilled, bottled at 46% and matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and Sauternes wine casks.

Rooted in history but encapsulating a true modern approach, this release continues our journey and builds on our reputation in crafting unique and interesting expressions of Irish whiskey that explore the full spectrum of flavours that it can offer.

Saw this on Instagram....if only it was possible to buy it.

I've tried desperately to create an account on Teeling's rather terrible website, but to no avail.

I'm pretty sure they have some kind of regional block on it or something.

Buy it here for GBP 60 :

They do not ship to SA though, so I'll use my GB postbox/forwarders again.

Let me know if you're going to buy, I'd like one as well and we can split the shipping costs?

I have just finished registering on that site and am ready to buy. The only drawback is that you pay VAT twice...once in Ireland and once when it arrives here.

We can always hope that MoM or Whisky Exchange get it in, but I somehow doubt they will? Maybe I can check with them first?

Or @BartSimpson can bring us some bottles when he goes to Ireland again...

MoM says they are getting it in at the end of the month. So I think we can put something together then. Much better and you save money on the VAT and the freight forwarding.

Still waiting on a reply from Whiskey Exchange...

Just an update, I got some whisky samples from @Luben, so thanks for that mate! In those samples are Wee Beastie, Bells Special Reserve, Laphroaig 10 and a "mystery" whisky. I can't wait to delve in mate! I told him I don't want that much, but he sent anyway, so a big-ass public thanks to you man! I've got your samples bottled and ready to roll once the courier pitches up.

On to the Laphroaig discussions I had above - I now have some 10YO and yesterday a friend introduced me to the Select. I have to say, at the price point, I was expecting a lot worse. It's a good dram. Not as "in your face" peaty as the Ardbeg 10, which is great in it's own way. It is pretty sweet, fruity and nice and mildly peaty. I didn't pick up on that "medicinal" notes that people spoke of, and I also didn't get that rich salt, iodine, thick peat smoke as you get in Ardbeg 10. I think it's a very nice peat to introduce people to peat with.

I can't wait for the 10. But I'll have to. Work and family first. I'll get around to them over the weekend. I did smell them though. One note - the Bells Special Reserve - do I detect a very nicely balanced peat smoke between the familiar caramel sweet? I can't wait!

How does that make sense? Let's print some banners and go and protest in Wellington....

Is the 12 YO Export Only because of SARS and Excise Tax or is there another reason?

Edit: Answering my own question after seeing some of Andy Watts's comments. Basically this bottle is 700ml which makes it legal in the UK, and he has always wanted to release something that side to say thank you.
