Why you should join Jawug?

I would If I could Ryder...seems i'm out of sight :(

A guy called Ravens_Place is plotted as a "maybe" and thats the only person i have LOS with..... damn

Dont give up! We had a chap connecting through a mountain, using a pringles can! Have faith!

Yeah, ive read about the pringles can a couple of years back in the PCF...

But the Thing is, I don't wanna spend close to R2000 if it might not work... Faith doesn't work for me then...

*Sigh* Either i'm gonna have to move or sum1 close to me must have a connection, to which I can connect to.... I Can't believe there is no other person in Norkem Park doing this! WTF?

We have a "roaming" scanner kit which we could come do some tests at your place....

There is always a way!

Ok...that would be great.

I'll save money for the kit, and ask sum1 to bring a scanner along when I have the cash.

Thanx, and keep up the good work!

I will probably get some equipment and test a link to Randburg just worried about one or 2 trees. I should have LOS to Sandton as well

Trees are not a big deal - most of the time.
All the links I have ever had (on my 4th one now) have had trees in the way - from a small tree, to pine trees, to a damned forest.
Speeds can and do decrease - especially when trees are wet - but you can usually get something through.

Should be fine then. I will just need to decide how to link it into my lan and set up another firewall.

The device is ethernet based (hear that Neotel?). Just need to add a route from your PC / existing firewall.

Yeah, trees are sometimes overcome-able. I myself am also connecting through a tree or two (or 9?), but it very much depends on the distance and the amount of trees in the way..best way to check is a scan, though.

as soon as i can figure out how to take the damn photos and not fall myself int oblivion ... ill load em up
