Yebo 4 Less

If you're gonna moan about contract customers not getting the benefits of Y4L then yes.

Anyway, v3g, why is there such a delay between subscribing for Y4L and it reflecting when you dial *111*444# ?

I dialed *111*777# but I get an error.

I used the *111# thing to change over using Free Change and it said it was successful but *111*777# doesn't work. Cell Info on my phone (Nokia 6234) says it's not available on this network.

Help?

EDIT. I got the SMS saying I'm registered for Y4L but when I dial *111*444# (as per the instruction in the SMS) it says I'm not registered.

Same story here.......

feo, a mod would definitely merge the thread as soon as another one pops up. We would just like to bring it under v3g attention, we crave some contract deals! :p

I understand that and you guys are fully entitled to some juicy deals as well (:D) but, to me, the posts on page 1 and 2 just seems like monumental WHINING.

Back on topic, I'm still having trouble with that 444 number..

This is a direct copy of MTN's Zone isnt it?

When will Vodacom do something original.

Not quite a direct copy, since this covers off net calls too, which MTN doesn't. Statistically, approx 2/3 of the people you are likely to call will be VC customers, so the MTN (on net only) product is actually quite crippled in comparison.

Rest assured, a product like this is not a quick thing to roll out. The infrastructure required and network monitoring and MIS (to ensure things remain profitable) must be horrific. I am sure VC had this product in mind for quite some time, and MTN just beat them to it. It isn't always a case of "me too", sometimes some people just get there first (someone has to be first) even though the others are working on something similar.

I want Yebo4less on data calls :D.

Me too but it wont help when you are in bundle. And besides which, the moment you get decent throughput on the cell the traffic stats for the cell will say "being used" and so the discount will drop.
Data, being time insensitive, will negate this product.
Your only hope is to live in an area where people are still struggling with the concept of the wheel, otherwise the utilisation on your base station will lead to minimal discounts.

At MTN does the percentage change during usage?

Like if you phone just before 7am and get a 60% discount and you on the phone for lets sat 2hours, would that 60% stay valid for the whole call?

Still not working for me...

*sigh*

I'll check in the morning.

Serves you right for needling us contract customers:D.

AFAIK the rate you see when making the call stays constant throughout the duration of the call.

My cell is displaying 95% discount to Voda atm.:cool:

Is it just me or does that work out to 13cents per minute.:)

Go VC!

99% at the moment and 65% to other networks. Even though the discount is bloody brilliant, I don't think my mom will appreciate a call right now!
